Alright, so you wanna know about this “be story club comics,” huh? Well, lemme tell ya, it’s a whole bunch of stories, like picture books but for grown-ups, if ya catch my drift. They ain’t got no fancy learnin’ words or nothin’, just good ol’ stories you can follow along with.
Now, from what I gather, these comics ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. Some of ’em are about magic, like that “Spells R’Us Dream Girl” one. Sounds like a fairy tale, but I bet it’s got some twists and turns, you know? Life ain’t always a straight path, and these stories, they seem to get that.
Then there’s this “SuperStar” fella. Sounds like one of them superhero types, always flyin’ around and savin’ the day. But they got a colorin’ book for it too, so maybe he ain’t all that serious. Kids like them colorful pictures, and I reckon grown-ups do too sometimes. Takes ya back to simpler times, ya know?
And lemme tell ya, they got all sorts of stories. One’s called “Fairy Tales,” which was their first one, so I guess they started with somethin’ sweet and simple. But then they got somethin’ called “The Great Inflator,” and let me tell ya, it sounds a bit wild! Somethin’ about a villain who makes, uh, things… bigger. Sounds like a hoot, if you ask me, but maybe not for the faint of heart.
- They got a whole bunch of characters and stories, so you ain’t gonna get bored.
- Sounds like some are funny, some are scary, and some are just plain weird. Just like life, ain’t it?
- They even got an address and a website, if you wanna find out more. Somethin’ about San Francisco, which is a big city, I hear. Not like around here, that’s for sure.
I reckon these comics are for folks who like a bit of imagination, a bit of adventure, and maybe a bit of somethin’ different. They ain’t like them serious books with all them big words. These are stories you can just sit back and enjoy, like listenin’ to your grandma tell ya a tale by the fire… if your grandma was into superheroes and magic and, well, inflatin’ things.
They even say that any resemblance to real people or events is just a coincidence. Which means they’re makin’ it all up, which is the whole point of a story, right? To take ya somewhere else, to make ya think, to make ya laugh, maybe even to make ya a little scared.
And they compare one of ’em to Batman, saying “Just like Batman – One Bad Day”. Now, everyone knows Batman, even an old woman like me. Seen him on the TV a few times. So, if it’s like that, it must be about good versus evil, but with a twist, I reckon. ‘Cause nothin’s ever black and white, is it? There’s always a bit of gray in there, a bit of somethin’ unexpected.
So, if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ to read that ain’t gonna make your head hurt, somethin’ that’s gonna take ya on a ride, then maybe these “be story club comics” are for you. Just don’t go expectin’ no highfalutin literature, ya hear? These are just stories, plain and simple, and sometimes, that’s all ya need.
