Alright, let’s talk about these MMA UFC gloves, you know, the ones them fellas wear when they’re beatin’ the tar outta each other on TV. I seen ’em a few times, all colorful and stuff. My grandson, he’s always watchin’ it, yellin’ at the screen. Kids these days, I tell ya.
So, what I gather, these ain’t just any old gloves. They call ’em UFC sparring gloves or MMA gloves too, I think. Fancy names for somethin’ that just looks like puffy mittens to me. But they say these gloves are special, made with some kinda fancy foam, VICIS RFLX foam they call it. Sounds like somethin’ you’d put in a mattress, not on your fists, but what do I know?
Now, this UFC thing, that’s a big deal, they say. The biggest, like the Super Bowl of fightin’ or somethin’. The world’s premier mixed martial arts organization, the TV man says. All them fellas wanna be the best in the UFC, I guess. Gotta wear the right gloves to do it, though.
- They got new gloves now, the UFC Official Fight Glove, in somethin’ called 3EIGHT and 5EIGHT series. Sounds like airplane talk to me.
- Them smart fellas, the product developers, they talked to the fighters and coaches, looked at numbers and stuff, and made these gloves better, they say. Made ’em fit better, work better, and have better tech, whatever that means.
- Used to be gloves for men and gloves for women, but now it’s just one size fits all, kinda like them stretchy pants they sell on TV. Ten sizes though, so maybe not so stretchy after all. And they’re lighter now, took off a bit of weight, like when you finally get that rock outta your shoe.
But, you know, them fighters, they weren’t too happy at first. They didn’t like these new gloves made by that Vicis RDI company. Fighters are a picky bunch, always complainin’, just like my old man used to. Always wantin’ somethin’ different, somethin’ better.
These gloves, they ain’t just gloves, they’re a… what’s the word… a tribute. Yeah, that’s it. A tribute to all them fighters and fights over the last 30 years. A reminder of their heart, their passion, and all that. Like a statue or somethin’, but you wear it on your hands. A symbol of the past, and a hope for the future, they say. Poetic, ain’t it? For a pair of gloves.
So, when you see them fellas in the ring, punchin’ and kickin’ and grapplin’, remember them gloves. They ain’t just there to protect their hands, they’re a part of the whole shebang, a part of the history, a part of the fight. And they cost a pretty penny too, I bet. Everything’s expensive these days.
Anyway, that’s the gist of it. MMA UFC gloves. Fancy gloves for fancy fightin’. Me, I’d rather stick to knittin’. Less blood, ya know?
I almost forgot, they changed the gloves in April. Not sure why that’s important, but the TV man said it, so it must be somethin’. Maybe it’s like when they change the oil in your car, gotta keep things runnin’ smooth, even in a fight.
