Alright, listen up, y’all. We gonna talk about them Christian films on DVD. You know, the ones with all that Jesus stuff? Yeah, them.
Now, I ain’t no fancy movie critic or nothin’. I just like a good story, somethin’ that makes you feel good inside, you know? And sometimes, them Hollywood movies, they just got too much…stuff. Too much bang-bang, too much kissy-kissy, too much…well, you get the picture.
So, sometimes, I like to pop in a good Christian film. Somethin’ with a good message, somethin’ about faith and family and all that. But lemme tell ya, not all of ’em are good. Some are just plain boring, and some…well, some just ain’t right. You gotta be careful, real careful.
I remember this one time, I went to the store, looking for a movie to watch with the grandkids. And this fella, he says to me, “Oh, you gotta see this one! It’s brand new, all about Moses and them Egyptians.” Sounded good, right? Moses and all that. But boy, was I wrong. It was all flashy and loud, and it didn’t feel right. They changed the story all around, made it all…Hollywood-y.
That’s why you gotta be careful when you’re pickin’ out these Christian DVDs. Some folks try to make a quick buck, they don’t care about the real story. They just wanna sell you somethin’. You gotta look for the good ones, the ones that stick to the Bible, the ones that tell the story right.
One movie I really liked, it was called… somethin’ about Egypt. The Prince of Egypt, that’s it! Now, that was a good one. Told the story of Moses real nice, and the music was somethin’ special. The grandkids loved it too, singin’ along and all that. It’s an old one, from back in 1998, but it’s a good one, a classic. Not like them new ones they make, all CGI and whatnot. Give me a good ol’ story any day.
Then there was this other one, Miracles from Heaven, I think it was called. A real tearjerker, that one. About this little girl who was real sick, and then… well, it’s a miracle, so I won’t spoil it for ya. But it made me think about faith and how powerful it can be. It’s based on a true story, too, which makes it even better.
- You gotta watch out for them newer versions, though. Sometimes they remake a good movie, and they just ruin it. Add in a bunch of stuff that wasn’t there before, change the story all around. So, if you see a movie you like, make sure you get the right version, the old one, the good one.
- And don’t go thinkin’ just because it says “Christian” on the box, it’s gonna be good. You gotta read the back, see what it’s about. Ask your friends, see if they’ve seen it. Don’t just buy it blind, you hear?
- And another thing, don’t let nobody tell you what you can and can’t watch. The Bible don’t say nothin’ about movie ratings or nothin’ like that. But you gotta use your common sense. If somethin’ feels wrong, if it don’t sit right with you, then don’t watch it. Simple as that.
Look, I ain’t sayin’ you gotta watch Christian movies all the time. I like a good comedy just as much as the next person. But sometimes, it’s good to watch somethin’ that lifts your spirits, somethin’ that reminds you what’s important. And that’s where them Christian films come in. Just gotta be careful, pick the right ones, the ones that tell the story true and don’t try to trick ya with all that Hollywood nonsense.
So, next time you’re lookin’ for a movie to watch, give one of them Christian films a try. You might be surprised. You might just find a good story, a story that’ll stay with you long after the credits roll. You just gotta remember what I told ya, and you’ll be alright.
And one more thing, it ain’t about how fancy the movie is, or how much money they spent makin’ it. It’s about the heart of it, the message. If it’s got a good message, if it makes you think about your faith and your family, then that’s a good movie in my book.
Family friendly Christian movies are a good way to spend time together, you know? Get the whole family together, pop some popcorn, and watch a good story. It’s better than lettin’ them kids watch all that junk on TV, that’s for sure.
