Alright, listen up, y’all. We gotta talk about them Cherry Poptart comics. You know, the ones with that wild gal doin’ all sorts of things. I ain’t no expert, mind you, but I know a thing or two about sellin’ and buyin’, been doin’ it my whole life, eggs, chickens, you name it.
Now, these comics, they ain’t for the faint of heart, let me tell ya. That Cherry, she’s a real pistol! But folks seem to like ’em, and that means there’s money to be made. So, if you got some lyin’ around, dust ’em off, ’cause you might be sittin’ on a gold mine, or at least a few extra bucks for some good eatin’.
First thing’s first, you gotta know what you got. Cherry Poptart #1, that’s the one everyone wants, see? It’s like the first egg from a new hen, always worth more. Then there’s #2, and #3, and all the way up to…well, I don’t rightly know how many they made, but a whole bunch, that’s for sure. Some of ’em got different covers, too, some are even signed, like when the preacher signs your bible, makes it special, you know?
Where to sell ’em, you ask? Well, there’s this thing called eBay. It’s like a big ol’ market, but on the computer. My grandson showed me. Folks from all over the place go there lookin’ for stuff, and them Cherry Poptart comics, they’re always poppin’ up. You can set a price, or let folks bid on ’em, like at an auction. Just make sure you take good pictures, clear ones, so folks can see what they’re gettin’. Nothin’ worse than buyin’ a pig in a poke, as they say.
Now, some folks, they get all fancy, talkin’ about “condition” and “grading.” Hogwash, I say! If it’s in good shape, it’s in good shape. But, if it’s ripped or stained, like that old tablecloth I got from the church rummage sale, well, you gotta be honest about it. Don’t try to pull a fast one, ’cause folks ain’t stupid.
- Check the comic number: #1 is the big one, but others are good too.
- Look at the cover: Special covers and signatures are worth more.
- Take good pictures: Clear pictures show what you’re sellin’.
- Be honest about condition: Don’t hide rips or stains.
- Decide on a price: Look at what others are sellin’ for.
Then there’s these other places, like “MyComicShop,” sounds fancy, huh? They got auctions too. My grandson says they got sales records, means you can see what these comics been sellin’ for lately. And somethin’ called “Key Collector Comics,” they tell you what they think the comics are worth. Like them folks who come ‘round and tell you how much your land is worth, but mostly they just want to buy it cheap, so be careful.
Don’t forget about shippin’, neither. You gotta pack them comics good, so they don’t get bent or wrinkled. Use some cardboard, like when you’re shippin’ eggs. And charge enough for shippin’ so you ain’t losin’ money. Post office ain’t givin’ nothin’ away for free, that’s for sure.
And listen here, if you got a whole bunch of them comics, like a whole stack of pancakes, you might wanna sell ’em as a set. Folks like gettin’ everything all at once, saves ’em the trouble of huntin’ around. You might even get a better price that way, like sellin’ a whole dozen eggs instead of just one at a time.
So there you have it, a little bit of advice from an old gal who knows a thing or two about sellin’. Them Cherry Poptart comics, they might just be worth somethin’, so go on and see what you got. And remember, be fair, be honest, and don’t be afraid to haggle a little. That’s how you get the best price, whether you’re sellin’ comics or chickens.
Now, I gotta go make some supper. All this talk about Cherry Poptart has made me hungry. Maybe I’ll make a cherry pie. Or maybe just some good ol’ cornbread. Either way, it’ll be better than eatin’ them comics, that’s for sure. Though, I reckon some folks would pay good money for a bite of Cherry, if you know what I mean. But that’s a story for another day.
Last thing, some folks say Cherry don’t age, kinda like them soap opera stars, always lookin’ the same. And she’s friendly with everyone, if you catch my drift. Guess that’s why them comics are so popular. Just remember, it’s all just pictures and stories, don’t go gettin’ any ideas.
