Alright, let’s talk about them sharks, you know, the big fish in the sea. Them things what swim around and got all them teeth. Some folks call ’em “formidable fish”, yeah, that’s a big word, means they’re scary, I reckon. I seen some pictures, Lord have mercy, they ain’t pretty like no goldfish, that’s for sure.
Now, I heard tell there’s these things called “Shark Quizzes.” Quizzes? Like them tests they give the young’uns in school? Well, I’ll be. Guess folks wanna know all about sharks. Can’t say I blame ’em, better to know what’s swimming around out there, right?
These quizzes, they ain’t just for fun, I hear. They got these teams, see, and they watch these “Shark Quiz” shows on this “You-Tube” thing. My grandson, he’s always on that thing, watching folks play games and such. Anyways, these teams, they watch them shows to learn the ropes, figure out how the quiz works and all that. They even got champions! Like them “Junior Sharks 7” fellers, they won somethin’ big. Good for them, I say.
- What kind of sharks are there? I bet there’s more than just the ones you see on TV.
- How big do they get? Some’s gotta be bigger than my old pickup truck, I imagine.
- What do they eat? Fish, I guess, but maybe some of them eat bigger things too, Lord help us.
- Where do they live? Not in my bathtub, I hope! But I heard some swim close to shore, that’s scary.
Them quizzes, they ask all sorts of questions, I reckon. Like, what kinda sharks there are. I seen some pictures, some look like regular fish, some got them hammerheads, and some are just plain ugly. They probably ask how big they get too. I bet some’s bigger than my old pickup truck, maybe even bigger than the whole dang barn! And what they eat? Well, fish, I guess, but maybe some of them eat bigger things too, Lord help us. And where they live? Not in my bathtub, I hope! But I heard some swim close to shore, that’s scary. Gotta watch them young’uns when they go swimmin’.
You know, it ain’t just about bein’ scared of sharks. It’s about understandin’ them. They’re part of the ocean, just like the little fish and the big whales. And if we’re gonna go swimmin’ in their house, we gotta know what’s what. That’s what I tell my grandbabies anyways.
So, if you wanna know more about sharks, go on and take one of them “Shark Quizzes.” Maybe you’ll learn something new. Maybe you’ll find out what kind of shark you’d be if you was a fish. Me? I’d probably be a catfish, settled down at the bottom, minding my own business. But them sharks, they’re somethin’ else. They’re out there, swimmin’ around, bein’ sharks. Fun and educational? Well, I reckon learnin’ can be fun, long as it ain’t too hard on the brain.
This whole “Shark Quiz” thing got me thinkin’. Maybe I should watch one of them You-Tube shows with my grandson. Maybe I’ll learn a thing or two. Maybe I’ll even get to like them sharks, though I doubt I’ll be swimmin’ with ’em anytime soon. But knowin’ is better than not knowin’, that’s what I always say. And if takin’ a quiz helps folks know more about them sharks, well then, I reckon it’s a good thing. It’s a big ocean out there, and them sharks, they’re part of it. And the more we know, the better off we all are.
