Well, let me tell ya ’bout this “King of Drama” thing, or whatever they call it, this…man-hwa. Sounds fancy, but it’s just pictures and words, like them comic books my grandkid used to read. Only this one’s got more words, I reckon.
So, there’s this fella, Lee Hyunseok. He used to be a big shot “PD,” whatever that means. Sounds important, like he tells folks what to do. Anyways, he made a drama, a show for the TV, and it flopped. Yep, went belly up, nobody watched it, I guess. So, this Hyunseok, he decides he’s gonna make a comeback. He’s gonna make another drama, but this time, it’s gonna be a crazy one, a real head-turner.
Now, this ain’t no ordinary drama, no sirree. It’s got ghosts and stuff. See, Hyunseok, he’s become some kinda “ghost master director.” Sounds spooky, right? I ain’t seen no ghosts myself, thank the Lord, but this fella, he’s dealing with ’em. Maybe he talks to ’em, maybe they give him ideas, I don’t rightly know. But it makes for a wild story, that’s for sure.
And then there’s this other fella, Jang Se Chool. He’s a tough guy, see? Boss of some gang. Now, what’s a gangster doing in a drama story? Well, he’s got a soft spot, this fella. He’s been sweet on this gal, Kang So Hyun, for three whole years. Love, they call it. Makes folks do all sorts of crazy things. I remember when my old man used to… well, never mind that. Point is, this Jang Se Chool, he’s got a heart, even if he is a gangster.
- So, you got this Hyunseok fella makin’ a crazy ghost drama.
- And you got this gangster Jang Se Chool moonin’ over Kang So Hyun.
- And it’s all mixed up in this “King of Drama” story.
I tell ya, it’s a lot to keep track of. But it’s kinda fun, too. You got the action, with the gangster and all. You got the comedy, I guess, ’cause some of the stuff that happens is just plain silly. And then you got this “slice of life” thing they talk about. That just means it’s about everyday stuff, I reckon. People fallin’ in love, people gettin’ into trouble, people tryin’ to make somethin’ of themselves.
They say it’s a “manhwa,” and that it’s got “shounen” in it too. Don’t ask me what that means. Just more fancy words, far as I’m concerned. But it’s got pictures, lots of ’em, and they’re in color, too. Everything’s so bright and colorful these days. Back in my day, things were mostly black and white, unless you were lookin’ at a flower or somethin’.
This “King of Drama” thing, it’s got a good story, they say. And good art, too. I guess that means the pictures are pretty. And it’s funny, which is always nice. Lord knows we could all use a good laugh these days. Life’s too short to be serious all the time, that’s what I always say.
You can read this “King of Drama” online, for free, they say. No need to go to no store and buy no book. Just clickety-clack on that computer thingamajig, and there it is. Ain’t technology somethin’? Makes you wonder what they’ll come up with next. Maybe a machine that does the dishes for ya? Now, that would be somethin’.
So, if you’re lookin’ for a story with gangsters, ghosts, and a whole lot of drama, then this “King of Drama” might just be the ticket. It’s got everything but the kitchen sink, I reckon. And even if you don’t understand all them fancy words, you can still enjoy the pictures. That’s what I do, anyways. Just look at the pictures and make up my own story. Sometimes it’s better that way.
Anyways, that’s the gist of it. A fallen director, a love-struck gangster, some ghosts, and a whole lot of drama. It’s a wild ride, this “King of Drama,” but it’s a fun one, too. So go on, give it a read. You might just like it. And if you don’t, well, ain’t nobody forcin’ ya to read it. That’s the beauty of it, I guess.
