Alright, alright, lemme tell ya ’bout these here… whatchamacallit… weird personality quizzes. Yeah, those things you see on the internet. My grandkids, they’re always fiddlin’ with their phones, takin’ these quizzes. I tell ya, they’re a hoot!
So, what are these quizzes anyway? Well, they’re like little games, see? They ask you a bunch of questions, like, “Do you like pickles on your ice cream?” or “Would you rather talk to a squirrel or a rock?” Stuff like that. And then, based on your answers, they tell you what kinda person you are. Now, I ain’t sayin’ they’re always right, mind you. But they sure are fun.
Some of these quizzes, they try to figure out if you’re a “likable person.” They ask you things like, “Do you smile at strangers?” or “Do you hold the door open for folks?” I guess if you do those things, you’re supposed to be a nice person. But I always say, bein’ nice is more than just smilin’ and holdin’ doors. It’s about treatin’ people right, ya know? Even if they got pickle juice on their chin.
Then there’s these “EQ” tests. That’s somethin’ about your “emotional intelligence.” Fancy words, I tell ya. They wanna know how well you understand other folks’ feelings. Like, if your neighbor’s cow gets loose, do you laugh or do you help ’em catch it? Common sense, if you ask me. But I guess some folks need a test to tell ’em that.
And then, oh boy, then there are the weird ones. The ones that ask you stuff that makes absolutely no sense. Like, “If you were a fruit, what kinda dance would you do?” Or “What color is your soul on a Tuesday afternoon?” I swear, these young folks come up with the craziest things! But I gotta admit, those are the quizzes I like best. They make me laugh, and they make me think. Even if I don’t understand half of it.
One quiz I saw, it wanted to know if you were “cringy.” Can you believe that? Cringy! I had to ask my grandkid what that even meant. Turns out, it’s like… awkward, I guess. The quiz asked things like, “Do you wear socks with sandals?” (Guilty as charged, sometimes my feet get cold!) or “Do you sing in public even though you can’t carry a tune?” (Well, doesn’t everyone sing in the shower?). Anyway, the quiz said if you do those things, you might be cringy, and that’s why you don’t have any friends. I told my grandkid, “If folks don’t like you ’cause you wear socks with sandals, then they ain’t worth knowin’ anyway!”
- Some quizzes tell you if you’re “weird.” Now, I don’t think bein’ weird is a bad thing. In fact, I think it’s kinda special. These quizzes, they ask you about your “quirks” and your “preferences.” Like, do you collect bottle caps? Do you talk to your plants? Do you wear mismatched socks on purpose? If you do, then congratulations, you might be weird! And that’s perfectly alright. The world needs more weirdos, I say.
- Other quizzes are just plain silly. They ask you things like, “What kinda cheese are you?” (I’d be a good sharp cheddar, myself) or “What’s your spirit animal?” (Probably a grumpy old hen). These quizzes, they ain’t meant to be serious. They’re just for fun. And that’s okay too. Sometimes, you just need a good laugh.
So, why do people take these weird personality quizzes? I reckon it’s ’cause they’re curious. They wanna know more about themselves. Or maybe they’re just bored. Whatever the reason, I think these quizzes are harmless fun. They might not tell you the whole truth about who you are, but they can give you a little somethin’ to think about. And hey, if a quiz tells you you’re a “delightfully weird” individual, well, then you just go ahead and embrace it! Ain’t nothin’ wrong with bein’ a little different.
And remember, no matter what a quiz says, you’re the only one who really knows who you are. So don’t let some silly questions on the internet tell you otherwise. You’re special, you’re unique, and you’re probably a whole lot more interesting than you think you are. Even if you do wear socks with sandals.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go find a quiz that tells me what kind of pie I am. I’m hopin’ for apple, but I wouldn’t mind bein’ a pecan, either.
