- Emotion Charades: This one’s about feelings. You write down a bunch of feelings on slips of paper – happy, sad, angry, scared, you name it. Then them kids pick one and gotta act it out without sayin’ a word. The others gotta guess what feelin’ they’re showin’. Helps ’em understand them emotions, which is important, I reckon.
Them games are good for gettin’ them kids engaged. You don’t want ’em just sittin’ there starin’ at the wall, do ya? Nope! You want ’em up and movin’, laughin’, and learnin’. And these games do just that.
Now, some folks might say, “Why drama? Why not just stick to readin’ and writin’ and math?” Well, I say, drama teaches you stuff them other things don’t. It teaches you how to work with other folks, how to speak up for yourself, and how to be creative. And them’s important things in life, I tell ya.
Drama ain’t just for them kids who wanna be actors neither. It’s for everybody. It helps them shy kids come outta their shells, and it helps them rowdy kids learn to focus. It’s good for all of ’em, I reckon.
And don’t you go thinkin’ you need a fancy stage and costumes neither. You can do drama anywhere! In the classroom, in the gym, even outside in the yard. All you need is a little imagination and a bunch of eager kids. Drama games are very useful for middle schoolers. Drama can also be used for educational purposes
Another thing, teachin’ drama ain’t just about tellin’ them kids what to do. It’s about lettin’ them explore and experiment. Let ’em try new things, let ’em make mistakes, let ’em have fun! That’s how they learn, you know?
