Well, let me tell ya ’bout this Central Dauphin sports, ya know? It’s a whole lotta things, not just one thing, that’s for sure.
The Football Games
First off, they got them football games. Friday nights, the whole town gets together. Them boys runnin’ around, smashin’ into each other. Sometimes they win, sometimes they lose. That’s just how it is. Like that Central York team, they beat Central Dauphin East somethin’ fierce. 47 to 14, I heard. Ouch! That gotta hurt.
And then there was that game against Cedar Cliff. Went on and on, couldn’t even finish it in four quarters. Tied, they was. Don’t know who won in the end, but it sure was somethin’ to see. Young Jared Weaver, he was playin’ I think. Good boy, that Jared.
Football, it’s a big deal around here. Keeps the young’uns outta trouble, mostly. And gives us old folks somethin’ to yell about on a Friday night. Win or lose, we cheer ’em on. That’s what community’s all about, right?
Basketball and Other Stuff
But it ain’t just football, no sirree. They got basketball too. Them tall boys dribblin’ and shootin’. Fast as lightning, some of ’em. And wrestling, and swimming, and all sorts of things. Track and field, that’s another one. Runnin’ and jumpin’ and throwin’ stuff. Kids got a lot of energy, gotta let ’em use it up somehow.
I seen some scores somewhere, can’t rightly remember where. Said Central Dauphin, they was playin’ basketball. And I think they had a swim team too. Kids are always busy with somethin’. Good for ’em, I say.
- Basketball
- Swimming
- Wrestling
- Track and Field
- And more!
The Standings and Such
Now, they got these things called standings. Tells ya who’s winnin’ and who’s losin’. Like in that Mid-Penn Commonwealth Division. State College, they was on top. Hershey, Cumberland Valley, and then Central Dauphin. Fifteen wins and fifteen losses, that’s what it said. Middle of the pack, I guess. Not too bad, not too good.
It’s all a bit confusin’ to me, all these numbers and divisions. But the young folks, they seem to understand it. They get all excited about it. Talkin’ ’bout rankings and playoffs and whatnot. I just like watchin’ the games. Seein’ the kids try their best.
It’s More Than Just Games
You know, it ain’t just about the winnin’ and losin’, though. It’s about the kids learnin’ teamwork and discipline. And the whole town comin’ together. Cheerin’ and hollerin’, win or lose. It’s somethin’ special, that’s for sure.
Central Dauphin High School, that’s where it all happens. Big brick buildin’, lots of kids runnin’ around. Been there for years, that school. Seen a lot of games, a lot of kids come and go.
District 3, they call it. That’s the area where Central Dauphin plays. Lots of other schools in there too. Competin’ against each other. Friendly competition, mostly. Sometimes things get a little heated, but that’s just part of it.
So, that’s Central Dauphin sports in a nutshell. Football, basketball, and a whole lotta other stuff. Kids runnin’ around, folks cheerin’, and the whole town comin’ together. It’s a good thing, I reckon. Keeps things lively around here.
And it ain’t just for the young folks neither. Us old folks, we get somethin’ outta it too. Somethin’ to watch, somethin’ to talk about. Somethin’ to be proud of. Our kids, our town, our team. That’s what it’s all about.
So, next time you hear about Central Dauphin sports, you’ll know a little somethin’ about it. It ain’t just games, it’s a whole community thing. And that’s somethin’ special, don’t ya think?
Win or Lose, We’re All Central Dauphin
That’s the spirit, you see. We support our kids, no matter what. They win, we cheer. They lose, we cheer louder. That’s how we do things around here. We’re a family, in a way. And families stick together, through thick and thin.
So, yeah, that’s Central Dauphin sports. More than just games. It’s community, it’s family, it’s home. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
