Well, let me tell ya somethin’ about this China Grove Youth Sports, you know, for the young’uns. They got this baseball and softball thing goin’ on, real nice for the little fellas and the little gals.
They say it’s for kids, you know, ages four to twelve. That’s a good age, I reckon. Old enough to swing a bat, not too old to still listen to their mamas and daddies… mostly. They play down at that China Grove Ballpark, over on North Harris Street. Number 712, they say. Can’t miss it, big ol’ field, plenty of room for the young’uns to run around.
Now, they got this Spring season, and they got a Fall season too. Spring, they say you gotta sign up by February 24th, 2024. Don’t be late, or your kid ain’t gonna play, that’s what I heard. Fall season, well, that’s later. Sign up by August 31st. Cost ya fifty dollars a kid. Fifty dollars ain’t too bad, I guess, considering how much they run around.
- Spring Season: Sign up by February 24th, 2024.
- Fall Season: Sign up by August 31st.
- Cost: $50 per player.
And they got teams for the boys AND the girls, so nobody feels left out. That’s important, you know, for the little ones to feel like they belong. My grandson, little Timmy, he played last year. He was so excited, bless his heart. Ran around like a chicken with its head cut off, but he had fun. That’s what matters, right?
They got this thing called a “SportsEngine platform.” Sounds fancy, don’t it? I ain’t too sure what it is, but they say it helps you keep up with the team and the games and all that. Schedules and updates, they call it. You gotta make an account, I think. They got a guide for it, so even old folks like me can figure it out… maybe.
Now, you gotta decide what kinda team your young’un wants to be on. They got the “recreational league”, just for fun, you know? And then they got the “All-Star teams” for the real competitive kids, the ones who wanna win all the time. Timmy, he just played for fun. He ain’t no All-Star, not yet anyway.
Where to Play?
It ain’t just that one ballpark, ya know. They got a couple other places too. There’s Hanna Park, downtown on North Main Street. Number 180, they say. And then there’s Village Grove Park, over on 67… somethin’ or other. Can’t remember the whole address. Point is, they got plenty of places for the kids to play. That’s a good thing, keeps ‘em outta trouble.
So, if you got young’uns, and they like to play ball, check out this China Grove Youth Sports. It’s a good way for them to get some exercise, make some friends, and maybe even learn a thing or two. And who knows, maybe one day they’ll be a big star, hitting home runs and makin’ lots of money. Or maybe they’ll just have fun. That’s good enough for me.
And don’t forget to sign ‘em up on time! You don’t want ‘em to miss out on all the fun, do ya? February for Spring, August for Fall. Mark it on your calendar, stick it on your fridge, whatever you gotta do. Just get them signed up so they can get to playing ball. It’s good for them.
Little Timmy, he’s already asking about signin’ up again. He can’t wait. And you know what? Neither can I. There’s nothin’ better than watchin’ them young’uns play ball, laughin’ and havin’ a good time. It warms an old lady’s heart, it really does.
So, yeah, China Grove Youth Sports. It’s a good thing, a real good thing. Go sign up your kids. You won’t regret it. And tell ‘em ol’… well, tell ‘em somebody sent ya. They’ll know what ya mean.
