Well, let me tell you, that Dale Hollow, it’s somethin’ else. Heard folks talkin’ ’bout this Dale Hollow Horizon Sports thing, sounds like a big to-do. They got all kinds of stuff goin’ on down there, I reckon. Sounds like folks like to go there for that fishin’. Lord knows, I ain’t never been much for fishin’ myself, but them that do sure do love it.
They say they got this thing, this Dale Hollow Horizon Sports Network, like on the radio or somethin’. Sounds fancy. They talk about them Bulldogs, some kinda team, I guess. And Clay Powersports, they’re in on it too. Sellin’ boats and fishin’ stuff and, what was it? Mowin’? What in tarnation is mowin’ doin’ with fishin’? Young folks these days, I tell ya.
They got this fella, Lamb, they talk to him ‘fore the games. Starts at 6 o’clock, they say. Must be important, that Lamb fella. And somethin’ about HH Auto and Equipment Parts. Sounds like a mouthful, don’t it?

Seems like everybody and their brother is headin’ to that Dale Hollow place. They talk about spawnin’ and smallies. I think it’s somethin to do with fish. Some folks go in March, some go in April. They talkin about some trip in March. I don’t know what they expect, but they seem excited. I don’t know what a smallie is, but folks sure do like catchin ’em. They say they gettin’ ready to do somethin’ or already done it. Lord knows what they’re talkin’ about, but it sounds important to them fishin’ folks.
And you know, it ain’t just fishin’ neither. They got other things to do at that Dale Hollow Lake. Golf, they say. And somethin’ called tennis. And basketball. Imagine that! Playin’ games while you’re supposed to be fishin’. Back in my day, you went fishin’, you fished. None of this runnin’ around playin’ games nonsense. But I guess times change, don’t they?
They got a live stream of them Bulldogs playin’ their sports. Clay County High School Bulldogs, that’s what they call ’em. You can listen to the games, even the old ones, they say. On somethin’ called an archives page. Sounds complicated to me. I reckon it’s like a recordin’. I remember when we used to listen to the radio. Now, they got all kind of things, I can’t keep up.

Then there’s this other fella, goin’ in May. Staying at a place called Star Point. Says he’s wonderin’ ’bout the Smallie fishin’. Must be serious about them fish, that one. Readin’ reports and all. I wouldn’t know a report if it bit me. But he seems to know what he’s doin’. These young’uns today with their fancy words, I don’t know.
That Dale Hollow Horizon, it’s a popular thing, ain’t it? 4,324 likes, they say. And 87 talkin’ ’bout it. Must be somethin’ special, I guess. Print and digital, they say. Whatever that means. It’s all beyond me, these newfangled words. But it sounds like it keeps folks busy.
This trip to Cedar Hill, they say it’s the last one for the season for them Bulldogs. Must be a big deal, I reckon. End of the road, you might say. Then they gotta come home, I suppose. Just like them fish, gotta come back sometime, don’t they?
So, yeah, that Dale Hollow Horizon Sports, it’s a whole thing. Fishin’, games, radios, streams, reports. Sounds like a busy place. Maybe too busy for an old gal like me. But hey, if it makes folks happy, that’s all that matters, right? I guess folks just like to get out and do things, even if it’s just watchin other folks do things. I don’t know what all this fuss about, but they sure do love it. They sure love them Dale Hollow Horizon Sports.
This Clay Powersports, sound like they sell a lot of stuff, boats and all that. One stop shop for everything, like a general store back in the day. But for fishin’ and boats. I guess that’s how they do it now. Everything in one place. Convenient, I suppose. They must make a pretty penny sellin all that. I heard they sellin’ like hotcakes over there. Those young folks sure love their boats.
