Alright, let me tell you somethin’ about this WWE basic stuff. It ain’t like what we used to have, no sir. It’s all flashy now, big show. They call it “sports entertainment”. Lord, back in my day, wrasslin’ was wrasslin’. But this WWE, it’s a whole different animal.
First off, you gotta know, this WWE thing, it’s the biggest one out there. They got all the big names, all the fancy lights. It’s like the biggest circus you ever did see, but with a lot more punchin’ and kickin’. They got this show, “Monday Night Raw,” they call it. It’s on every week. My grandson, he watches it all the time. Screamin’ at the TV like a lunatic.
Now, they got these fellas, they call ’em “Superstars.” Superstars! Back in my day, they were just wrestlers. Big, strong fellas, but just wrestlers. These new ones, they got all sorts of names. They act all mean and tough. Some of ’em are good guys, some of ’em are bad guys. You can tell by the way they act, who’s who. Good guys, they call ’em “babyfaces.” Bad guys, they’re “heels.” It’s all a big show, see?
They got these other shows, too. One for each day, you see. Lots of shoutin’ and jumpin’ around. It’s all planned out, you know. It ain’t real fightin’, not really. They practice and practice, so they don’t hurt each other too bad. But sometimes, oh boy, sometimes they do get hurt. I seen it. Broken bones, blood. It ain’t for the faint of heart, I tell ya.
- WWE basic is big. Really big. Biggest there is.
- They got this show, “Monday Night Raw.” Big deal. Everyone watches.
- They got “Superstars.” Just wrestlers, really.
- Good guys, bad guys. “Babyfaces” and “heels.” All a show.
- It’s all planned. They practice. But they still get hurt sometimes.
You wanna be one of these WWE basic “Superstars”? Well, you gotta train. Hard. They don’t just let anybody in. You gotta go to school for it. Learn how to fall, how to throw a punch without really hurtin’ someone. It’s a whole thing. My grandson, he says he wants to do it. I told him he’s crazy. But he’s young, he don’t listen.
They got all these fancy moves now. Jumpin’ off ropes, flippin’ around. Back in my day, it was more just grabbin’ and throwin’. This new stuff, it’s somethin’ else. They even got a trainin’ place. A “Performance Center” they call it. Where you want to be to learn all the WWE basic. Sounds fancy, don’t it? But I bet it’s tough. Lots of sweatin’ and yellin’, I imagine.
You gotta be tough, real tough, to do this WWE basic stuff. It ain’t just about bein’ strong. You gotta be able to act, too. Pretend you’re mad, pretend you’re hurt. It’s like bein’ in a movie, but with more body slams. They got stories, you see. Like a soap opera, but with more fightin’. Who’s fightin’ who, who’s friends with who. It’s all a big drama.
This WWE basic, it’s on TV all the time. And now, they got this thing, this internet thing. You can watch it on there, too. Any time you want. Back in my day, you had to wait for Saturday night. Now, you can watch it whenever. My grandson, he’s always on that thing, watchin’ wrasslin’. Drives me crazy.
- You gotta train hard to be in WWE.
- They got fancy moves now. Flippin’ and jumpin’.
- They got a “Performance Center.” For trainin’.
- You gotta be tough, and you gotta be able to act.
- It’s like a soap opera, but with fightin’.
- You can watch it on TV, and on the internet. All the time.
So, that’s the WWE basic for ya. It’s a big show. Lots of noise, lots of lights. It ain’t like the old days, but the young folks, they seem to love it. Me? I think it’s a bit much. But what do I know? I’m just an old lady. But I seen a thing or two in my day. And I can tell ya, this wrasslin’ business, it ain’t for everyone. You gotta be a little bit crazy, I think, to do it.
Now they even say this whole WWE basic thing is gonna be on that Netflix. That’s what my grandson says. He’s always talkin’ about that Netflix. Says it’s gonna be a big deal, ten years or somethin’. I don’t know about all that. Sounds like a lot of hooey to me. But he seems excited. He says everyone will be watchin’ “Monday Night Raw” on Netflix. I guess that’s the way things are now. Everything’s changin’.
They do a lot of jumpin’. A lot of yellin’. They wear these tight pants. Colorful, too. And sometimes they wear masks. Like they’re bandits or somethin’. It’s all very silly, if you ask me. But the crowd, they love it. They go wild. They cheer and they boo. It’s a whole spectacle, that’s for sure. This whole WWE basic thing, it’s a spectacle.
