That American Tears sheet music, I tell ya, it’s somethin’ else. I seen it around, you know. That Teresa Jennings, she wrote it. She must be a good egg, that one. Lots of folks seem to like that music. They play it at them school things, I reckon.
My granddaughter, she was in one of them things once. Singin’ and all that. This was a long time ago, mind you. They was all dressed up, lookin’ real nice. I remember she was a little nervous, bless her heart. But she did real good. Proud of her, I was.
Now, that music, it’s for singin’, I think. Unison, they call it. Like everybody singin’ the same thing. Makes a big sound, I guess. Good for them school things, where you got a whole bunch of kids. They can all sing together.
They got it all written down, too. The notes and all that. I don’t know nothin’ about readin’ music myself. Never did learn that. But my granddaughter, she can read it. Smart girl, that one. Takes after her grandma, I like to think. But maybe it’s for piano, voice and guitar. I really don’t know.
They got other things, too. Like them… them records, they used to call ’em. Now they’re them little shiny things. CDs, I think they call ’em. Got the music on there, so you can play it along with the singin’. Makes it sound real fancy, I guess. They called it Performance CD Sheet Music.
I seen it somewhere that it is from Plank Road. Yeah, they say it’s Plank Road Publishing. It looks like a big company. I also seen that this music was used in schools for that September thing. Some memorial thing. It must be some sad song then.
Back in my day, we didn’t have all this fancy stuff. We just sang. Didn’t need no music written down, or no records to play along with. We just sang from the heart. That’s the best way, I reckon.
But I guess times change. Kids these days, they got all these things. Computers and phones and whatnot. It’s a different world now. But, this American Tears sheet music is popular, I know.

I remember one time, we was all singin’ at the church. Old Mrs. Henderson, she had a voice like a rusty gate. But she sang loud, bless her heart. We all sang together. Didn’t need no fancy music. Just sang what we knew.
Now, this American Tears sheet music, it’s probably got all kinds of fancy things in it. High notes and low notes. Fast parts and slow parts. I don’t know. But I reckon it’s good music. Lots of folks seem to like it, anyways.
My granddaughter, she tried to teach me to read music once. Showed me all them lines and dots. It was like lookin’ at chicken scratch to me. I just couldn’t make heads or tails of it. She laughed, said I was a hopeless case. Maybe she was right.
But I can still sing. Don’t need no fancy music to do that. Just open your mouth and let it out. That’s what I always say. And if you sing from the heart, it’ll always sound good. Even if you ain’t got the prettiest voice. I guess this music can help those who can’t sing well.
That American Tears sheet music, though. It’s got a nice ring to it, I’ll give it that. American Tears. Makes you think, don’t it? Tears are tears, I reckon. Don’t matter where you’re from. Everybody cries sometimes. Happy tears, sad tears. All kinds of tears. Some people cry a lot. Some don’t. But it is not a shame thing.
Maybe that’s what that music is about. All them different kinds of tears. American tears. Could be about anythin’, I guess. But Teresa Jennings must have her own idea. I think that music is probably about somethin’ sad, though. Probably makes folks cry when they hear it. But maybe that’s a good thing. Sometimes you need a good cry. Clears the air, you know? This American Tears sheet music is full of feelings.
I reckon that’s all I got to say about that American Tears sheet music. It’s somethin’ to think about, anyways. Music and tears. They go together, don’t they? Like ham and beans. Or like pie and ice cream. You know what I mean. Good combination.
