Okay, so, today I want to talk about something I’ve been getting into lately – corporate videos. You know, those videos companies use to show off their brand, explain what they do, or just make things easier to understand. Well, I decided to make one for my own little project, and let me tell you, it was a ride.
First off, I had to figure out what the heck I wanted to say. I mean, I know my project inside and out, but explaining it to someone else in a short, engaging way? That’s a whole different ball game. I spent a good chunk of time brainstorming, writing scripts, and then rewriting them because they sounded too boring or too complicated.
- Figuring out the message – this was the hardest part, honestly.
- Writing and rewriting scripts – ugh, so many drafts.
Once I had a script I was মোটামুটি (more or less) happy with, I started thinking about the visuals. I’m no artist, so I knew I couldn’t do anything too fancy. I decided to keep it simple with some basic graphics and animations. I dabbled with a few free online tools, and after a lot of trial and error, I managed to put together something that looked decent.
- Thinking about visuals – I’m not an artist, so this was tough.
- Choosing simple graphics and animations – seemed like the easiest route.
- Using free online tools – thank goodness for those.
Then came the actual filming. Since I don’t have any fancy equipment, I just used my phone. Yep, my good old smartphone. I found a quiet spot with good lighting – which, by the way, is super important – and hit record. It took a few takes to get it right, and I definitely felt awkward talking to a camera, but I powered through.
- Filming with my phone – no fancy cameras here.
- Finding a quiet spot with good lighting – surprisingly important.
- Doing multiple takes – it’s harder than it looks.
After filming, I jumped into editing. Again, I used some free software I found online. I cut out the parts where I messed up (there were a lot of those), added the graphics and animations, and even threw in some background music to make it less awkward. It was a learning process, for sure, but I actually started to enjoy it.
- Editing the footage – cutting out the bloopers.
- Adding graphics, animations, and music – trying to make it look professional.
Finally, after hours of work, I had a finished video! It wasn’t perfect, but I was proud of it. I uploaded it to a platform and shared it with some friends. Got some feedback, made a few tweaks, and now it’s out there in the world.
So, that’s my corporate video adventure. It was challenging, frustrating at times, but also pretty rewarding. I learned a lot about planning, scripting, filming, and editing. And who knows, maybe I’ll make another one someday. But for now, I’m just glad it’s done!
