So, I’ve been messing around with this thing called “comics,” you know, those picture stories? I stumbled upon this online, and I thought, “Why not give it a shot?”
First off, I had to figure out what I even wanted to make. I mean, there are tons of these comics out there, superheroes, funny animals, you name it. I’m more of a “slice of life” kind of guy, so I decided to do something about everyday stuff. You know, relatable things.
I started by sketching out some ideas. Stick figures at first, just to get the basic story down. I’m no artist, but hey, it’s a start. Then I tried to draw some actual characters. Let’s just say it was a learning process. Lots of erasing and starting over.
- Brainstorming: This was actually fun. Just letting my mind wander and jotting down whatever popped into my head.
- Sketching: The hardest part, for sure. But I kept at it, and slowly but surely, my stick figures started to look like actual people.
- Inking: I used a free online tool for this. It was tricky, but it made my drawings look a bit more polished.
- Coloring: Another online tool. I went with simple colors, nothing too fancy.
Once I had a few pages done, I wanted to share them with the world. Well, maybe not the whole world, but at least a few friends. I found this website, a blog thing, where you can post your stuff. Seemed easy enough.
I uploaded my comics, wrote a little description, and hit “publish.” It was kind of nerve-wracking, putting my stuff out there like that. But you know what? People actually liked it! I got some comments, some likes, it was pretty cool.
I’ve been doing this for a while now, and I’ve learned a lot. My drawings have gotten a bit better, I think. And I’ve figured out how to tell a story with pictures and a few words. It’s not easy, but it’s definitely rewarding.
Sharing is Caring
If you’re thinking about trying this out, I say go for it! It’s a fun way to be creative, and you might even surprise yourself with what you can come up with. Just remember, it takes practice. Don’t get discouraged if your first attempts aren’t perfect. Just keep at it, and you’ll get there.
And hey, if you end up making some comics, let me know! I’d love to see what you create. We can all learn from each other, right? There is a space on a website called “r/something” where people chat with each other, maybe we can use that space to share and talk!
Alright, that’s all for now. Time to get back to drawing. Keep creating, folks!
