Today, I want to share my experience with applying to the Central Academy of Drama. It’s known as one of the top drama schools in China, so naturally, I was pretty excited but also super nervous about the whole thing.
First off, I started by digging around for information. I found out that it’s directly under the Ministry of Education and they’ve produced some seriously famous artists and scholars. It is located in Beijing. It is ranked 51-100 in the QS WUR Ranking By Subject 2024. And its acceptance rate is 9%. That got me even more pumped to apply.
The first big step was to make sure I met their basic requirements. You gotta be between 18 and 30 years old, which I am, and have a high school diploma with good grades. Checked those boxes, phew!
Next, I dove into researching their postgraduate programs. They offer a ton of options, but I had to narrow down which one really fit my passion and career goals. This part took a while because I wanted to be absolutely sure.
After deciding on the program, I started gathering all the necessary documents. Transcripts, recommendation letters, personal statement – the whole nine yards. Getting everything in order was a bit of a headache, but I managed.
Then came the application itself. I filled out the forms online, double-checked, triple-checked everything, and finally hit that submit button. Talk about nerve-wracking!
But the waiting game after submitting the application was the hardest part. I kept checking my email like a hawk, hoping for any news. It felt like forever.
Finally, the day came when I received an email. My heart was pounding out of my chest as I opened it. And there it was – an acceptance letter! I couldn’t believe it. All that hard work paid off!
But here’s the kicker – I also learned that less than 1% of applicants actually get in. That’s insane! Even if you’re talented, it’s super competitive. That made me even more grateful to have been accepted.
So yeah, that’s my story of applying to the Central Academy of Drama. It was a rollercoaster of emotions, but in the end, it was totally worth it. Getting in felt like a dream come true.
