So, I’ve been wanting to get into watching more sports, and I stumbled upon this thing called Global Polo TV. I’d heard a bit about polo before, but honestly, I didn’t know much about it. Figured it might be fun to check it out, you know?
First thing I did was head over to their website. It’s pretty straightforward, just had to register an account, nothing too complicated. They mentioned something about providing content in 1080 HD, which is cool, gotta have that good picture quality. They also said they cover over 70 GAUNTLET games, which sounded like a lot! I guess that’s a big tournament or something.
I signed up for a free account initially. Apparently, even with the free account, you can still get some “engaging polo content”. I think I also saw something about a “Premium Polo Pass”. Maybe that gives you access to even more stuff. I’ll have to look into that later.
What I Watched
- U.S. Open Polo Championship: This seems like a big deal. I watched a couple of matches, and it’s pretty intense! Fast-paced and the players are super skilled.
- Short Films and Features: They have some cool behind-the-scenes stuff too. I watched a short film about the horses, which was actually really interesting. They’re such amazing animals.
I got curious about some of the players I was watching, like this guy Sapo Caset. What is his full name? Also Hilario Ulloa who always played for Park Place? They have info about all the players and teams, which is great for a newbie like me. There’s a lot to learn!
How I Watched
I mostly watched on my computer, but they also mentioned something about Roku. I don’t have one of those, but it’s good to know there are options. You can also watch on your TV, smart phone, it’s pretty cool. And then I found out that they also stream games live on social media. I saw something about YouTube, Facebook, and X. That’s pretty convenient. I’ll probably check those out too.
They also mentioned that India is the birthplace of modern polo. It was originally called “sagol kangjei”, “kanjai-bazee”, or “pulu” in Manipur. I had no idea! It’s always fun to learn something new.
Overall, it was a pretty good experience. I’m still learning about the sport, but Global Polo TV seems like a good way to get into it. I might even upgrade to that Premium Polo Pass thing eventually. If you’re looking for a new sport to watch, maybe give it a try!
