Today I wanna talk about something that I tried to draw, that’s called “Kamehameha Comic”. It all started when I was scrolling through some old manga, you know, just chilling, and I stumbled upon Dragon Ball. Man, that brought back memories! And of course, the iconic Kamehameha wave came to mind. But I also remembered something about a king with the same name from Hawaii. So I thought, why not mix them up and create something new?
I started with some research. I googled “King Kamehameha” and “Dragon Ball” together. Found out that King Kamehameha was a big deal in Hawaii, a warrior king who united the islands. Cool stuff! And then there’s Goku’s Kamehameha, which is all about gathering energy and blasting it out. I felt like there was a connection there, you know, the whole powerful warrior vibe.
So, I grabbed my sketchbook and started sketching. I drew a character that kinda looked like Goku but also had some Hawaiian warrior elements. I gave him a grass skirt, some tribal tattoos, and that intense, focused look that Goku gets when he’s about to unleash the Kamehameha. I was pretty happy with it, but something was missing.
I decided to add a background. I drew a beautiful Hawaiian beach, with palm trees, clear blue water, and a volcano in the distance. I imagined my character standing there, getting ready to defend his homeland from some kind of threat. It was all coming together.
- First, I outlined the character and the background with a thin pen.
- Then, I started coloring. I used bright, vibrant colors for the character, making him stand out against the background. I used blues and greens for the ocean and the trees, and some fiery oranges and reds for the volcano.
- Finally, I added the Kamehameha wave. I drew it as a big, swirling ball of energy, with lightning crackling around it. I made it look like it was really powerful, like it could wipe out anything in its path.
The Result
When I was done, I stepped back and looked at my drawing. I was pretty stoked! It was exactly what I had imagined, a fusion of Dragon Ball and Hawaiian history. I called it “Kamehameha Comic” because it felt like a scene straight out of a comic book. I even thought about writing a whole story around it, but that’s for another day. Anyway, I just wanted to share this little project of mine. It was a lot of fun, and I learned a bit about Hawaiian history along the way. Plus, I got to draw a super cool Kamehameha wave! Hope you guys like it!
