So, I heard about this thing called Ivue TV Guide the other day, and I thought, “Why not give it a shot?” It’s supposed to be this cool tool for organizing TV channels and stuff, especially on Kodi. I’m not the most tech-savvy person, but I figured I could manage. I mean, how hard could it be, right?
First thing I did was try to find where to download it. It wasn’t as straightforward as I hoped, had to do a bit of searching. Eventually, I found a guide that talked about installing it on Kodi Krypton and Leia. I have Krypton 17, so that was a good start. The guide said to start with the Settings, which I found on Kodi no problem.
Once I was in the Settings, it was a bit like a maze. There were so many options! But I followed the guide step by step. It said something about going into an “Add-ons” section and then finding an option to install from a zip file. Now, I’m not going to lie, I had no idea what a zip file was, but it sounded important. I managed to get to this part, feeling pretty proud of myself. I downloaded this zip file thing from somewhere earlier, and now I had to find it on my computer. After a bit of clicking around, I found it and selected it. Fingers crossed!
And…it worked! I saw something about Ivue TV Guide being installed. I was like, “Yes! I did it!” I went back to the main screen and found Ivue TV Guide there. Clicking on it, I was greeted with a bunch of TV channels. It was a bit overwhelming, to be honest. There were so many!
I spent the next hour or so just exploring. I could select different countries and see their channels. It was kind of cool, but also a bit confusing. I tried to set up some of my favorite channels, but it wasn’t super obvious how to do that. I messed around with the settings, hoping to figure it out. There was something about selecting a custom file, which sounded fancy, but I had no clue what that meant.
Then, out of nowhere, I started getting this popup whenever I launched Ivue TV Guide. It was annoying and I didn’t know how to make it stop. I tried a few things, like changing the country settings, but nothing worked. It was getting frustrating.
After a while, I realized that even though the guide was loading, it wasn’t showing any information about the shows. I could click on a channel and it would play, but I couldn’t see what was on. That was a bummer. I wanted to see a schedule or something, you know? I want to check what is on air.
My Little Achievements
- Successfully installed Ivue TV Guide on Kodi. It wasn’t easy, but I did it!
- Explored a ton of channels from different countries. That was pretty neat.
The Frustrating Bits
- Annoying popup on launch. No idea how to get rid of it.
- No show information. The guide loads, but it’s empty.
- Customization is confusing. I couldn’t figure out how to set up my favorite channels easily.
So, yeah, that’s been my experience with Ivue TV Guide. It’s a mixed bag. On one hand, it’s cool to have access to so many channels. But on the other hand, it’s not the most user-friendly thing, and I ran into some problems. I might keep playing around with it, but I’m not sure if it’s going to become my go-to TV guide. We’ll see. It’s not perfect, but hey, I learned something new, right?
