Alright, so you wanna know about this Bluewater International Comic Con thing, huh? Well, lemme tell ya, it’s a big to-do, like a county fair but with more pictures and less cows. They got all sorts of stuff there, you wouldn’t believe it.
What is this Comic Con thing anyway?
It’s like a big ol’ market, see? But instead of just sellin’ tomatoes and chickens, they got, well, comics. You know, them picture books with the superheroes? Yeah, them. And not just comics, mind you. They got toys, like dolls but for boys and some girls too, I reckon. And games! Not the kind we play with cards, though there might be some of them too, but the kind you play on them fancy TV things.
And get this, they got “action figures.” Now, when I was young, we called ’em dolls, but these are all dressed up like them superhero fellas. And they got “original art” too. That means someone drew it, not printed it up in some factory. Fancy, huh?
Where’s this shindig happenin’?
It’s at somethin’ called the Bluewater Convention Center. Sounds grand, don’t it? It’s on Harker Street, number 800. In a place called Port Huron. I ain’t never been, but I heard it ain’t too far from here. Someone said it’s in Michigan, that state up north.
- Address: 800 Harker Street, Port Huron, MI 48060
- Place: Bluewater Convention Center
When’s all this goin’ down?
Now, this is important. You don’t wanna show up on the wrong day and find nothin’ but pigeons. They’re havin’ it on November 18th and November 23rd, so you got two days you can go. They had one of these Comic Cons before, by some folks called “Fantasticon.” Seems like they are doing this Bluewater International Comic Con too. They got a website, too, if you’re one of them computer folks. It’s somethin’ like “etix dot com” and a bunch of numbers and letters after that. Someone told me if you type in Bluewater International Comic Con Port Huron in them computer machines you can find the website and maybe buy a ticket to go. If you want to call, the number is 810-201-5513. Talk to them, not me.
Why should I go?
Well, that depends on what you like, I guess. If you like them picture books, or them superhero toys, or maybe just wanna see a bunch of folks dressed up like funny characters, then you might have a good time. They say it’s “affordable,” which means it don’t cost an arm and a leg, like some of them city things do. They say it’s thousands of comic books, action figures, toys, games, and original art. Sounds like a lot to see, more stuff than you can shake a stick at.
How do I get there?
Now, that’s the tricky part, ain’t it? I ain’t got a car, so I’d have to find someone to take me. But if you got a car, I reckon you can just punch that address into that fancy GPS thingy and it’ll tell ya how to go. Or you could do it the old-fashioned way and look at a map. Remember them? Big paper things with all the roads on ‘em. If you ain’t got a car, maybe you know someone who does. Or maybe there’s a bus, I don’t know. You gotta figure that part out yourself.
Anything else I should know?
Just keep your wits about ya, I guess. There’s gonna be a lot of people there, some dressed up funny, some not. Just be polite, don’t go starin’ too much, and have yourself a good time. And maybe bring some cash, in case you see somethin’ you wanna buy. They might take them credit card things too, but I ain’t too sure about that.
So, that’s all I know about this Bluewater International Comic Con. Sound like fun? Maybe. Sound like a lot of fuss? Maybe too. But it’s up to you to decide if you wanna go or not. Don’t come cryin’ to me if you don’t like it, though. I just told you what I heard.
