I heard some guys talking about “Honey Hooker Comics” at the bar yesterday, which got me curious, so I went back home and did some digging.
At first, I was just browsing some random forums, and I saw someone mentioned this name “Honey.” Seemed like a character’s name, and they were saying they couldn’t confirm it at that moment. That made me even more interested.
Then, I found out that “The Adventures of Honey Hooker” is like a collection of stories about this woman. It’s a whole 112 pages of colorful stuff, which sounds pretty wild. Apparently, she’s some kind of character from a magazine called HUSTLER.
Looking for these old comics
I started looking around to see where I could actually find these comics. Someone mentioned that you might find them in online comic book stores or on auction sites. I guess these are pretty old, maybe from the 70s or 80s, so it might be a bit of a hunt to get my hands on them.
- Browsed online forums for mentions of “Honey Hooker.”
- Found out it’s a comic series from HUSTLER magazine.
- Started looking for places to buy these comics.
- Discovered they might be considered vintage or rare.
What’s so special about them?
People online were talking about these comics being part of some “American Tradition of Pulp Fiction” which sounds kinda cool. It’s like, they’re not just regular comics, they have some history and maybe a bit of a rebellious vibe to them, I guess.
I also saw that these are considered adult magazines, so that explains why people were talking about them in hushed tones at the bar. I mean, it’s not every day you come across something like this, right?
I stumbled upon some more info saying that comics, in general, are more popular among boys than girls, and the older people get, the less they read them. Makes sense, I guess. I used to read a lot of comics when I was a kid, but not so much now.
The search continues
I haven’t actually gotten my hands on any of these “Honey Hooker” comics yet, but I’m definitely on the lookout. I might check out some of those online auction sites and see what I can find. It’s like a little treasure hunt, you know?
Anyway, that’s my little adventure with “Honey Hooker Comics” so far. It’s been a pretty interesting deep dive into something I knew nothing about before. I’ll keep you guys posted if I manage to find anything!
