So, yesterday I headed out to Kenner for the Comic Con. I had been looking forward to this for a while, a nice little escape into the world of comics and all that.
I got up early, threw on my favorite geeky t-shirt, and hit the road. Traffic wasn’t too bad, which was a nice surprise. When I arrived, the place was already buzzing with people in costumes, some of which were pretty impressive, I gotta say.
I spent the first hour just wandering around, checking out the different booths. There was so much to see – comics, toys, artwork, you name it. I picked up a couple of comics that I’d been wanting to read, and I even found a cool vintage action figure that took me back to my childhood.
- Walked around the venue, soaking in the atmosphere.
- Checked out the various stalls.
- Bought some comics and an action figure.
Later, I sat in on a panel with some comic book artists. It was really cool to hear them talk about their work and the creative process. I’m not much of an artist myself, but I always appreciate the talent and dedication that goes into creating these stories.
One of the highlights of the day was definitely meeting some of the actors from my favorite shows. I got a few autographs and even snapped a couple of photos. They were all super friendly, which made the experience even better.
The Food and People
The food was your typical convention fare – overpriced but not terrible. I grabbed a hot dog and some fries, and found a spot to people-watch while I ate. It’s always fun to see the mix of people at these events, from hardcore fans to casual attendees just there for the spectacle.
By the end of the day, my feet were killing me, but it was totally worth it. I left with a bag full of goodies, a bunch of photos, and some great memories. Comic Con is definitely one of those things that everyone should experience at least once. It’s a fun, unique, and honestly, a bit of a weird and wonderful time. I’m already looking forward to the next one!
