Well, let me tell you, these drama posters, they’re somethin’ else. You see ’em everywhere these days, all colorful and flashy, tryin’ to get your attention. Back in my day, we didn’t have nothin’ like that. Just the picture show, and you went if you went. Didn’t need no fancy drama posters to tell you what was playin’.
But these young folks today, they need all these pictures and words. These drama posters, you can make ’em yourself now. They got these computer things, you know. They let you make anything. Can use inches, whatever that is. Just gotta put the picture in the right size.
They got these drama posters for everything now. Movies, them Korean shows my neighbor’s granddaughter watches all the time. She’s glued to that screen. Says it’s better than the soaps. These Korean drama posters, they all look the same to me. Pretty people lookin’ sad or angry. Lots of cryin’, I reckon.
And they put these drama posters online, too. My grandson, he showed me. Said it’s where everybody sees things now. Not like the old days, puttin’ a sign up in the town square. Now it’s all on that interweb thing. Gotta have a good picture, he says. Gotta grab folks’ attention.
- You want a good drama poster? Make it bright.
- Lots of colors.
- Big words, so folks can read ’em easy.
- And put a pretty face on it. That always gets ’em.
These movie drama posters, they’re like the cover of a book, I guess. You see the cover and you know what’s inside. At least, that’s what they tell me. It’s all about getting people to watch. They want you to see their drama poster and say, “Oh, that looks good. I gotta see that.” They want your money. But it ain’t my money they are gettin’!
They even got places online where you can make your own drama posters. Can pick your own pictures, put your own words on ’em. My grandson, he’s good at that stuff. He makes ’em for his school plays. They don’t look like much to me, but he’s proud of ’em. He showed me how to do it once. Too complicated. I’d rather be knittin’. Or gossiping. That’s good drama, too, you know. Real-life drama. Better than anythin’ you see on them drama posters.
They got whole bunch of drama posters from all these other places. People are making them all the time, I guess. It’s a big thing now. You can make them about anything, too. Doesn’t even have to be a real movie or show. People make drama posters about their lives. Imagine that! Makin’ your life into a movie. Like one big, long drama poster.
These Hollywood drama posters, they’re somethin’ else. All fancy, you know. They want ’em to look professional. Whatever that means. Just means they spend a lot of money on ’em, I reckon. Tryna make the movie look good, even if it ain’t. They all want to capture the personality of the film. Fancy words for “Make people want to see it.”
And they got places you can go to just to look at these drama posters. Like a museum, but for drama posters. Can you believe it? People go and stare at these things for hours. I don’t get it. They’re just pictures. But some folks collect them, like some folks collect stamps. That’s a waste of time if you ask me.
They got these free things you can use to make drama posters too. Pictures and whatnot. My grandson uses ’em. Says it saves him money. He’s a smart boy. Always lookin’ for a deal. That’s how you gotta be these days. Everything’s so expensive. You can get vectors, whatever those are. They’re free, so that’s good.
These drama posters, they’re everywhere. You can’t escape ’em. On your phone, on your computer, on the side of the bus. They’re tryin’ to get you, I tell ya. They won’t stop until everyone has seen their drama posters. And that’s just how it is now. All these drama posters. It’s a crazy world.
Well, I’ve talked your ear off about these drama posters. You probably know more about them now than you ever wanted to. But that’s alright. An old lady like me, I got nothin’ but time. And stories. Lots and lots of stories. Just don’t get me started on the price of eggs these days. That’s a real drama, let me tell you. A real drama, indeed.
