This here thing, the drama of atheist humanism, well, it’s a real head-scratcher, ain’t it? Like a chicken tryin’ to understand why the sky is blue. This fella, Lubac, he wrote about it after that big war, the second one. Said it was all about why folks were movin’ away from that church stuff, you know, God and all that. And how that mighta helped cause all that mess, that big war. Big trouble, that was.
These atheist humanism fellas, they think they’re smart. They say people can be good without needin’ no God to tell ’em how. Like a mule thinkin’ it knows the way better than the farmer. They say right and wrong, it’s just what your neighbors say it is. No big rules from up above, they say. They don’t believe in nothin’ they can’t see or touch, ‘specially not God. Like tryin’ to catch the wind in a bucket, they say.
Basically, these atheists, they just don’t believe in no higher power, nothin’ you can’t see with your own two eyes. Started a long time ago, this thinkin’, back in the 18th century, I reckon. Then you got these humanists, they think they’re all kind and carin’. They care about people, they say, more than those church folks. They’re like atheists who still wanna be nice, like a fox tryin’ to be friends with the hens.
They got these ideas, these humanists. They say:
- Science is the only thing that knows anything for sure. Like sayin’ the sun comes up ’cause the rooster crows.
- This life is all we got. No heaven, no hell, nothin’. Just like sayin’ when the cow’s gone, it’s gone.
This Lubac fella, he was a priest, a Jesuit. Smart fella, they say, even became a Cardinal, wearin’ them fancy red robes. He wrote this book ’bout where all this atheist thinkin’ came from, the drama of atheist humanism, he called it. Said it was from them big movements, like them Nazis and Communists. Real bad eggs, those ones. All kinds of bad things happenin’ back then. Nothin’ good ever comes from that kinda thinkin’.
He talked about, you know, the drama of atheist humanism. That Lubac, he sure liked to use fancy words. But what he meant, I reckon, is that these atheists, they got a story just like everybody else. They got their own way of seein’ things, even if it don’t make much sense to the rest of us. Just like a pig has its own way of wallowin’ in the mud.
This Lubac, he made a difference between them old pagan stories and the Christian ones. Said the Christian ones were mysteries, like tryin’ to figure out why the hens lay eggs when they do. And the pagan ones, well, they were just myths. Just stories, nothin’ more. Like the one about the cow jumpin’ over the moon. Makes for a good story, but ain’t no truth in it.
Some fella named Falque, he seems to think this whole atheist thing still got some drama to it. Like a storm brewin’ on a summer day. You can feel it in the air, even if you can’t see it yet. It’s just all kinds of confusion, this drama of atheist humanism, this atheism stuff.
These atheists, they think they got it all figured out. But they’re just chasin’ their own tails, like a dog tryin’ to catch the moonbeam. It seems these atheist humanism folks are just plain wrong, and the drama will come when they figure that out. They’re missin’ somethin’ important, somethin’ bigger than themselves. And until they find it, they’re just gonna be wanderin’ around in the dark, like a lost sheep in the woods. This drama of atheist humanism is just a whole lot of nonsense.
It’s like tryin’ to make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear. You can try all you want, but it ain’t gonna happen. These atheists, they’re tryin’ to build a life without God, and it’s just like buildin’ a house on sand. It ain’t gonna stand. It’s just a matter of time before it all comes crashin’ down. I reckon that’s the real drama of atheist humanism.
This whole thing is just a big mess. Like tryin’ to herd cats. You can try all you want, but they’re just gonna go their own way. These atheists and humanists, they got their own ideas, and they ain’t gonna listen to nobody else. They’re just gonna keep on walkin’ down that wrong road, until they hit a dead end.
Well, that’s all I got to say about that. It’s all a bunch of hooey, if you ask me. But that Lubac fella, he seemed to think it was important. Maybe he was onto somethin’. But me? I’m just gonna stick to what I know. And that’s that. It is just a big old mess, this drama of atheist humanism.
