Well, let me tell ya about this here Diamonds Are Forever movie poster, ya know? It’s a real somethin’ else.
First off, this movie, Diamonds Are Forever, it’s one of them James Bond deals. You know, that fella who’s always chasin’ bad guys and whatnot. This one’s got Sean Connery in it, the fella with the slicked-back hair and the fancy suits. He’s a smooth talker, that one. Always got a lady on his arm and a gadget in his pocket.
Now, the poster itself, it’s got all sorts of pictures on it. You got Sean Connery, lookin’ all serious-like, holdin’ a gun. And there’s this pretty gal, Jill St. John, she’s in it too. She’s all dolled up, wearin’ fancy clothes and smilin’ that kinda smile that says, “I know somethin’ you don’t.” And then there’s Charles Gray, plays the bad guy, Blofeld. He’s got that sneer on his face, like he’s up to no good. Lana Wood’s there too, another pretty face.
The poster, it ain’t just pictures, though. It’s got words too. Big letters, shoutin’ out DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER. And then there’s some smaller words, tellin’ ya who’s in the movie and stuff like that. Guy Hamilton, that’s the fella who made the movie, the director they call ’em.
- Sean Connery, like I said, he’s the main man, James Bond.
- Jill St. John, she’s the Bond girl, Tiffany Case.
- Charles Gray, he’s the bad guy, Blofeld.
- Lana Wood, she plays Plenty O’Toole.
This Robert McGinnis fella, he drew the poster. He’s real good at drawin’ folks, makin’ ’em look all lifelike and stuff. The poster, it’s kinda like a story all on its own. You look at it and you can kinda guess what the movie’s about. Diamonds, see, they’re important. And there’s gonna be some trouble, what with the guns and all. And of course, there’s gonna be some romance, ’cause that’s just how James Bond rolls.
This poster, it ain’t just some pretty picture, mind you. It’s supposed to get folks to go see the movie. You see that poster hangin’ up, you think, “Hey, that looks like a fun time.” And you go buy a ticket and sit in the dark and watch Sean Connery do his thing.
The story, well, it’s about diamonds, like the title says. Folks are smugglin’ ’em, and James Bond, he’s gotta stop ’em. He goes all over the place, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, chasin’ after them bad guys. There’s this part where they put diamonds in a dead fella, Franks, and ship him around. Creepy, I tell ya.
And this Shirley Bassey, she sings the song for the movie. “Diamonds Are Forever,” it’s called. She’s got a powerful voice, that woman. You hear her sing and you just know it’s a James Bond movie. John Barry, he wrote the music, and Don Black, he wrote the words. They make a good team, them two.
They made different posters, ya know? Big ones, little ones, for all over the world. Studios, they print ’em up so everyone knows about the movie. They gotta put pictures and words on ’em, so folks know what it’s all about.
This * place, they got pictures of all sorts of movie posters. But they say it’s just for fun, not for sellin’ stuff. You can look at ’em, talk about ’em, but you can’t go makin’ money off ’em. And there’s Posteritati too, they got these original movie posters, like this Diamonds Are Forever one from 1971.
So, yeah, that’s the gist of it. Diamonds Are Forever movie poster, Sean Connery, diamonds, bad guys, pretty gals. It’s a whole lotta things all rolled into one. And it all starts with that poster, catchin’ your eye and makin’ you wanna see what all the fuss is about.
Anyway, that’s what I think about that there poster. It’s a good one, gets the job done, makes you want to see the movie. And that’s all that matters, right?
