Well, let me tell you, this thing called Amery Music on the River, it’s somethin’ else. It’s a real hootenanny, I tell ya! This year, 2024, they got it all planned out. You won’t wanna miss it, not one bit.
They got music, good music, the kind that makes ya wanna tap your feet and clap your hands. And it’s free! Can you believe it? Free for the whole darn community. Ain’t that somethin’?
First time I heard about it, I thought, “Music on the River? What in tarnation is that?” But then my neighbor, she told me all about it. Said it was the best time she had all summer last year. And let me tell you, she knows a good time when she sees it.
Amery Music on the River, they say it’s gonna be on a Friday. June 16th, mark your calendars! That’s the day you wanna be there. They got food, you know. Good food, the kind that sticks to your ribs. And drinks, too. Plenty to keep you cool in that summer heat.
- Food, oh boy, the food!
- Drinks to keep ya cool.
- And the music, don’t forget the music!
And get this, they got a car show! A classic car show. All them old, shiny cars lined up. My grandson, he’d love that. He’s crazy about them old cars. I remember when I was a girl, we had a Ford, a real beauty. Wish I still had it. But things change. People get old, cars do too, I reckon.
This Amery Music on the River, it’s put on by the Amery Community Club. Good folks, those Amery folks. They know how to throw a party. They are saying they got three shows this year, starting with June 17th. They’re calling it their Summer Concert Series. Fancy name, huh? But it’s just good old-fashioned fun, if you ask me.
Now, they say it’s gonna be at Michael Park. That’s in Amery, you know, right there in Wisconsin. 132 Central St, that’s the place. If you get lost, just ask someone. Folks around here are friendly. They’ll point you in the right direction.
This year they are having it on July 19th too. If you can’t make it in June, you have another chance in July, at 5:00 pm. Make sure you don’t miss it. They got tickets, but it says it is free. So maybe you just need to tell them you are coming. You can call them at 715-268-7486 if you have questions. They will help you out.
They got this band, Hitchville, they call ’em. They play from 7 to 10 at night. Then there’s another one, Mark Stary Band, playing from 5 to 7. Sounds like a whole lot of music to me! I hope they play some good old country tunes. I love me some good country music.
I hear they got this thing called Polk County Fair too. It is from July 25th to July 28th. It is in St. Croix Falls. I ain’t never been, but it sounds like fun. Maybe I’ll mosey on over there this year. It’s all part of that summer fun, you know.
You know, back in my day, we didn’t have all these fancy events. We made our own fun. We’d have barn dances, and potlucks, and sing-alongs around the piano. But times change, I guess. This Amery Music on the River, it sounds like a good time. A real good time.
So, if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ to do this summer, head on over to Amery. Listen to some music, eat some good food, and see them shiny cars. You might just have yourself a good old time. And tell ’em I sent ya! They might not know who I am, but tell ’em anyway. It’ll give ’em a chuckle.
This whole Amery Music on the River thing, it’s what makes summer special. Good people, good music, and good times. What more could ya ask for? It’s the simple things, you know. The simple things that make life worth livin’. And I’m gonna enjoy every darn minute of it.
