This here Appleton Music in the Park, it’s a real hootenanny, I tell ya. Every summer, folks gather ’round for some toe-tappin’ tunes. Ain’t nothin’ better than a warm night and good music, that’s for sure.
They got these concerts, see? And they’re free! Can you believe it? Free music right there in the park. My old bones might ache, but they sure do love a good jig. Happens every week, rain or shine, them musicians, they don’t quit.
Appleton Music Fun
Now, this here park, it’s called Jones Park. Pretty place, lots of green. People bring their lawn chairs and blankets. Some even bring them picnic baskets, full of goodies. Fried chicken, potato salad, the whole nine yards.
And the music! Oh, honey, the music! They got all kinds. One week it might be that foot-stompin’ bluegrass, next week could be somethin’ that makes ya wanna twirl around like a young’un. Even them slow songs, they get to ya. Make ya think of the good old days, ya know?

They got this thing called the Heid Music Summer Concert Series. Sounds fancy, don’t it? But it’s just good old-fashioned fun. Lots of local bands, playin’ their hearts out. Gets the whole town together, that’s what I like about it.
They even got this trolley, I heard. A free trolley! Takes ya right to the park. Now, that’s somethin’. Back in my day, we walked everywhere. Uphill both ways, in the snow! But this trolley, that’s a nice touch, I reckon. Easier on the old knees.
It starts when it gets warm, usually around June. And it goes on all summer long. Till it starts gettin’ chilly again. Then they pack it all up till next year. But, oh boy, while it lasts, it’s a real treat.
Summer Music in Appleton
The Appleton music in the park is a great way to spend a summer night. I seen people dancin’, kids runnin’ around, everyone just havin’ a grand old time. It’s what summer’s all about, I always say. Good company, good music, and good weather, if you are lucky.
Sometimes they got them drinks for the grown-ups, too. Them fancy drinks with the little umbrellas. And soda pop for the young’uns. Everybody’s happy. Just remember to clean up after yourself. Keep the park nice for everyone.
And these bands, they’re somethin’ else. They got that one band, I can’t recall their name, but they play that old-time rock and roll. Gets me right in the mood to shake a leg! They got another one that plays them country songs. The kind that make ya wanna cry in your beer, but in a good way, ya know?
I remember one time, this young fella, he was playin’ the guitar. He was good, real good. Reminded me of my grandson, when he was learnin’ to play. Brought a tear to my eye, I ain’t gonna lie.

Jones Park is the Place to Be
