I heard someone say something ’bout artistic music posters. What’s that? Pictures with music notes jumping around? I don’t know, but my grandson, he loves that stuff. He always sticks those things on his wall.
I saw one with a big guitar. It looked kinda cool, I guess. Not my cup of tea, but the young folks, they like that kinda thing. And those posters, you know, it ain’t like our old pictures. They got all them colors, bright ones. Make your eyes pop out.
Finding the Right Poster
Now, where do you find these things? I wouldn’t know where to start. But my grandson, he’s a smart cookie. He knows all about these cool music posters. He showed me one time on his phone. Many, many, pictures.
- Album artwork, I heard him say.
- Tour posters.
- Live images, whatever that means.
He said you can find them online. You just gotta type something in that little box. He calls it search. Artistic music poster selection, he typed, and bam, a whole bunch of them showed up.
I saw pictures of singers, bands, all those noisy groups. Some were old, some were new. My grandson, he likes those old ones. I don’t get it. But he says they’re classic. Unique or custom, he said, those words.
All Kinds of Music
And you know, it ain’t just one kind of music. There’s a whole bunch. My grandson, he listens to that loud stuff. He calls it rock. Or metal. I don’t know. It all sounds the same to me.
But on those posters, you got all kinds. Rock, indie, metal, rap, hip hop. Sounds like a bunch of gibberish if you ask me. But the kids, they love it.
There are these posters with just colors, no people. They are abstract representations, I heard. I don’t understand that. But the young folks, they like that artsy stuff.
I remember when I was young, we didn’t have these fancy things. We had some pictures, sure. But not like these. These new ones are something else.
Putting Them Up
You know, my grandson, he’s got his whole room covered in them. Artistic music posters everywhere. On the walls, on the door, even on the ceiling!
He says it makes the room look cool. I guess it does, in a way. It’s like a whole different world in there. All those colors and faces looking at you.
I asked him once, “Why do you like these so much?” He said, “Grandma, it’s about the music.” The music? I don’t see any music on those pictures. But I guess it’s something you feel, not see. That’s what he said.
More Than Just Pictures
I still don’t fully understand it. But I see how much he loves them. And that’s enough for me. These artistic music posters, they’re more than just pictures. They’re something special to him.
He also told me that many artists make these posters. You can even buy shirts and other things with the same pictures. He showed me some websites, but there are so many. Redbubble, Society6, Teespring, Threadless, Zazzle, Printful… I can not remember all those names.
And you can even find some free pictures online. He mentioned Pinterest, Pixabay, Unsplash. He said they are public domain art. I don’t know what that means. But if it’s free, it is good.
I guess it’s like a connection to the music, to the bands he likes. It’s like having a piece of them in his room.
Maybe one day I’ll understand it better. But for now, I’m just happy that he’s happy. And if these cool music posters make him happy, then that’s all that matters.
Those young folks and their music. It’s a different world. But it’s their world. And these posters, they’re a part of it. A big, colorful part of it.
