Well, let me tell ya somethin’ ’bout this here Agape League Musical. It’s one of them shows, ya know? Like them things they put on at the church, but this one’s got superheroes and stuff. Real fancy-like, I guess.
So, it’s all about these super fellas, the Agape League they call ’em. They live up in some fort, Agape Fortress, they say. Sounds mighty strong, that fortress. Impenetrable, they call it. Don’t even know what that means, but it sounds tough, like them old army tanks.
- They got these powers, see? Like them fellas in the comic books my grandson reads. But these powers, they come from somethin’ called the “Fruit of the Spirit.” Don’t ask me what that is, sounds like somethin’ you’d find at the grocery store, but I reckon it’s somethin’ holy.
- Anyways, these heroes, they gotta save this city, Suburbia City. Sounds like a nice place, all them houses lined up in a row, just like in the magazines. But somethin’ bad’s happenin’, I guess. Folks need savin’, always do.
Now, there’s this Christy Semsen and Daniel Semsen, they made this whole thing. Wrote the songs and all that. Dynamic contemporary songs, the paper says. Means they’re newfangled, I reckon. Not like them old hymns we used to sing in church. But I bet they got a good beat, make ya wanna tap your feet.
And it ain’t just singin’ and dancin’. They got this here story, too. A high-octane story, they call it. Means it’s fast and excitin’, like them car chases in the movies. And they got clever dialogue. That means the talkin’ is smart, I guess. Not just folks yellin’ at each other, like they do down at the market.
But the real deal is this: they gotta use somethin’ called God’s Word. That’s the Bible, ya know? Seems like these heroes forgot all about it, lost their powers or somethin’. And time’s runnin’ out! Always is, ain’t it? Just like when the biscuits are burnin’ in the oven, gotta move fast!
So, they gotta figure it out, these heroes. Gotta get their powers back and save them folks in Suburbia City. And they gotta do it usin’ that God’s Word thing. Sounds like a tall order to me, but I bet they can do it. Superheroes always do, right?
There’s even a DVD, they say. Choral Instructional DVD. I ain’t got no DVD player, but I reckon it shows ya how to sing all them songs. And that narrator fella, he starts it all off, talkin’ about the mountains and the city. Sets the scene, ya know?
So, if you like them superhero stories, and you like singin’ and dancin’, then maybe this Agape League Musical is for you. Me? I’ll stick to my gospel shows and my afternoon soaps. But it sounds like a good time, specially for them young folks. Teaches ’em about God and all that, and maybe even how to be a superhero in their own way. Help folks out, be kind, that kinda thing. That’s the real power, if you ask me.
And them questions, they got me thinkin’. Will the League get their powers back? Will the city folks be saved? And will they finally use that God’s Word before it’s too late? Well, I reckon you gotta see the show to find out! Or maybe read a book about it, if they got one. My eyes ain’t what they used to be, though. Prefer the TV, myself.
Anyways, that’s the gist of it, this Agape League thing. Superheroes, singin’, dancin’, and a whole lotta savin’. Sounds like a heap of fun, even for an old lady like me. Maybe I’ll ask my grandson to tell me more about it. He knows all about these superhero folks.
Just remember, it’s all about the Fruit of the Spirit, whatever that is, and using God’s Word. And savin’ folks, of course. That’s what heroes do, right?
