Well, let me tell ya ’bout this Algonac Music in the Park 2024 thing. It’s a real nice thing they’re doin’ for folks, ya know?
They call it the “Algonac Clay Music in the Parks series,” sounds fancy, huh? But it’s just good ol’ music in the park, like we used to have back in the day, only maybe a bit bigger now. They got it goin’ on Thursday nights, which is nice, gives ya somethin’ to look forward to durin’ the week.
Starts on June 6th, that’s what they say. From 7 to 9 in the evenin’. First part of it’s down by the river, at that Algonac Riverfront Park. Pretty spot, right by the water. Then later on, they move it over to Clay Township Park. So, ya get a change of scenery, I guess.
It’s free, ya hear? Free to get in and free to park yer car. That’s a big deal these days, everything costs so darn much. So, ya can bring the whole family, the kids, the grandkids, even yer grumpy ol’ neighbor if ya want. Just tell ’em to bring their own chairs, ’cause they ain’t providin’ them, ya know.
- When: Thursday nights, 7-9 PM, starting June 6th.
- Where: First half at Algonac Riverfront Park, second half at Clay Township Park.
- Cost: Free!
- What to bring: Lawn chairs.
I heard tell there’s gonna be this fella named Jessey Adams playin’ one night. Don’t know him from Adam, but folks say he’s good. They got all kinds of music, I reckon. Some of it I like, some of it I don’t, but that’s how it goes, right?
It’s put on by this group called “BandWagon,” I think. Sounds like a bunch of young folks, but they do a good job. They get the word out, and they make sure everyone has a good time. It’s real nice of them young folks to organize somethin’ for the community. Lord knows, we need more of this stuff to get together.
This thing happenin’ in Algonac, Michigan, and over in Clay Township too. St. Clair County, that’s where it is. If ya live around here, ya oughta go check it out. It’s a good way to spend an evenin’, get some fresh air, listen to some music, and see yer neighbors. Better than sittin’ at home watchin’ that darn television all night, I tell ya.
I reckon it’s good for the town, too. Brings people in, ya know? They might stop and buy a burger or somethin’ before the music starts, or maybe get an ice cream after. Helps the local businesses, and that’s always a good thing. We gotta support our own, that’s what I always say.
So, there ya have it. Algonac Music in the Park 2024. It’s a free, fun, family-friendly event. Go on down there and enjoy yerself. Ya might even see me there, sittin’ in my lawn chair, tappin’ my toes to the music. But don’t go blabbin’ that I told ya all this, ya hear? I got my reputation to keep, after all. And remember to bring your chairs, don’t want to be standin’ all night, your old bones won’t thank you for that.
They also said that they havin’ it in Clay Township Park, Saint Clair County. That’s a nice place to bring the whole family, plenty of room for the young’ns to run around. It’s a good way to spend a Thursday evening, just good ol’ fashioned family fun. And who knows, ya might discover ya like a new kind of music. Never hurts to try new things, even if you’re old as dirt like me.
So, mark yer calendars, folks. June 6th, that’s when it all starts. And it goes on for a while, every Thursday night. Don’t miss out, ya hear? It ain’t every day ya get somethin’ this good for free.
And that’s all I gotta say about that. Now, if ya’ll excuse me, I gotta go water my petunias.
