Alright, folks, gather ’round, let me tell you about my little adventure at Burien’s “Music in the Park” event. I heard about this thing a while back, and since I’m always up for some live tunes, I decided to check it out.
Getting There and Settling In
So, the first thing I did was figure out when it was all happening. Turns out, they have these concerts every Thursday in July. I picked a day that worked for me, July 11, 2024, marked it on my calendar, and waited. When the day rolled around, I grabbed a blanket, some snacks, and headed out to Lake Burien School Memorial Park. The place was easy enough to find, and there were already quite a few people milling about, setting up their spots on the grass. I found a decent patch of lawn, laid out my blanket, and got comfortable.
Enjoying the Music
The music started up, and it was pretty great. This year, there are various bands, and some city staff members were hanging around, talking about projects and stuff. I didn’t really chat them up, I was there for the tunes. The atmosphere was really chill, with everyone just kicking back and enjoying the evening.
The Spyrographs
One of the bands that caught my ear was called The Spyrographs. They had a cool sound, and I made a mental note to look them up later. There were a bunch of other bands playing throughout the series, but The Spyrographs really stuck with me. It’s always fun to discover new music, especially in such a relaxed setting.
Wrapping Up
As the sun started to set, I packed up my stuff and headed home. It was a simple evening, nothing too crazy, but that’s what made it so enjoyable. Sometimes, you just need to unwind with some good music and good company, even if that company is just a bunch of strangers enjoying the same tunes.
Final Thoughts
All in all, Burien’s “Music in the Park” is a solid way to spend a summer evening. It’s free, it’s easy, and it’s a great way to relax and enjoy some live music. If you’re in the area, I’d definitely recommend checking it out. You might even discover your new favorite band!
