Well, lemme tell ya, Florida Bible Quizzing, that’s somethin’ special, I tell ya. Young’uns from all over, they come together, showin’ off what they done learned from the Bible. These quizzin’ events, they ain’t just for fun, though. No sir, they’s about knowin’ God’s Word, and boy, them kids sure do know it well. Now, the Florida District, they been runnin’ these here quizzin’ competitions for a good while, and every year it gets bigger, with more young folks showin’ up ready to compete.
What’s Florida Bible Quizzin’ All About?
Florida Bible Quizzin’ is for the young folks, ages 12-18, who wanna get deep into studyin’ the Bible. They go and memorize them scriptures, I mean whole chapters sometimes, and then they quiz against each other. They ain’t just doin’ this alone neither, they work in teams, helpin’ each other out. It’s like school, but instead of math or science, they’re learnin’ Bible verses. It helps ‘em grow in faith and builds up some good study habits, that’s what it does. You got them Junior Bible Quizzin’ kids too, even younger ones, under 12, competin’ in their own group. They all do so well, every time.
The Events Happen All Year Round
Now, don’t you be thinkin’ this is a one-time thing. No ma’am, no sir, these quizzin’ events go on all year. You got some real important ones, like the pre-season event they just had in Ocala back in October. That one gets folks ready for the big tournaments. Then there’s the big one comin’ in January, the Senior-Only Tournament on the 8th. Them older quizzers, they really know their stuff by then. There’s even somethin’ for the younger ones in March, the Junior-Only Tournament. It’s real excitin’ watchin’ ‘em buzz in and answer them questions right quick!
Who Can Join Florida Bible Quizzin’?
Anybody can join, long as they’s the right age. For the Intermediate Division, you gotta be 12-14 years old, but if it’s your first year quizzin’, you can go up to 18. The Experienced Division, that’s for the real sharp quizzers, aged 12-18. Them quizzers, they been studyin’ and quizzin’ for years, and boy, they know them Bible verses like the back of their hand. There’s no messin’ around when them questions come at ‘em, they just answer real fast!
Even the little ones get to join in the fun. The Junior Bible Quiz, or JBQ as they call it, that’s for the kids younger than 12. It’s a good way for ‘em to start early, learnin’ teamwork and how to study. They say in JBQ, every kid’s a winner, and I believe that. It don’t matter who wins or loses, long as they’s learnin’ the Word of God.
What’s the Point of Bible Quizzin’?
Well, Bible Quizzin’, it’s more than just a game. It’s a ministry, and it’s all ‘bout discipleship. You see, these young folks, they ain’t just memorizing verses to win a prize or a trophy, though there’s plenty of them. No, they’re hidin’ that Word in their hearts, like the Good Book says. It changes ‘em, makes ‘em better people. They learn to be patient, to work hard, and to help one another. It’s a big ol’ family, too, with all the teams cheerin’ each other on, even if they’re from different churches.
Florida District Proud of Its Quizzers
Now, I tell ya, the Florida District, they sure are proud of all their quizzers. Every year, they got quizzers who win big at the district and even national level. They had themselves a big ol’ congratulations for the Intermediate quizzers just this year. And next year, well, who knows, could be even more quizzers comin’ up strong. Them Florida kids, they sure do know how to study the Bible, and the district is mighty proud of every last one of ‘em.
Gettin’ Ready for Next Year
If your kiddo’s thinkin’ ’bout joinin’ Bible Quizzin’ next year, well, now’s the time to get started. Registration’s already open for that Senior-Only Tournament in January, and before you know it, it’ll be time for the Junior-Only Tournament in March. Best thing is to start memorizing now, so they’re ready when the time comes. It’s gonna be a good year for quizzin’, I can feel it.
