You know that Cozzi Sports? I heard folks talkin’ ’bout it down at the market. Sounds like a real big deal, they say. I don’t know much about these things, my grandkids, they’re the ones always on their phones and whatnot. But this Cozzi, they say it’s all over Long Island, like weeds in my garden! Family owned, just like my old man’s farm used to be. That’s good, family is important. Keep that money in the family, I always say.
They got all sorts of stuff, this Cozzi place. Hockey, they say, and somethin’ called lacrosse. Never heard of that one, must be one of them new-fangled games. And figure skating, like them girls on TV, twirlin’ around on the ice. They sell the stuff for all that, everything you need. Skates and sticks and I don’t know what all. Sounds fancy.
They are like the big shots for this stuff, they say. Authorized retailer, that’s what they call it. Sounds important, like the mayor or somethin’. They got the good stuff, the stuff the pros use. Top-sellin’ blades, they call ’em. I don’t know what that means, but it sounds sharp! And team uniforms, like a whole team wearin’ the same thing. My grandson, he was on a baseball team last year, they all had same clothes. Makes ’em look like a real team, I guess.
I heard someone talkin’, said somethin’ ’bout a fella named Dante. Dante Cozzi Sports, they said. Must be the owner, or maybe his son. They said he works at Iceland. Is it a place with ice? Must be the place for skates. Keepin’ it in the family, like I said. That’s good business. Keep that money in the family. Good old Dante.
They say Cozzi is the place to go if you need anything for hockey, figure skating, or that lacrosse thing. They been around a long time, longer than most of them young folks been alive, I bet. Longest running and most trusted, they say. That’s important. You gotta trust the folks you buy from. My husband, he always said, “Never buy a pig in a poke.” You gotta know what you’re gettin’.
And they got good prices, too. That’s what I hear, anyway. Lowest prices on all the hockey and figure skating gear. That’s important, especially these days. Everything’s so expensive now. Back in my day, you could get a whole meal for a nickel. Now, you can’t even get a gumball for that. So, low prices, that’s good. Gotta save where you can, I always say.

This Cozzi Sports, it sounds like they got it all figured out. They know what they’re doin’. Been doin’ it a long time. Family owned. Good prices. Got everything you need for those games. If you’re lookin’ for that kind of stuff, that’s the place to go, I guess. That’s what everyone’s sayin’, anyway. I don’t know much about it myself, like I said. I ain’t no spring chicken anymore. But I hear things. I hear things down at the market, at the church, at the bingo hall. People talk. And they’re all talkin’ ’bout Cozzi Sports. Must be somethin’ special. They are the best on Long Island.
I remember one time, my grandson, he wanted one of them hockey sticks. A real fancy one. Cost more than a week’s worth of groceries, I told him! But he saved up his allowance, did chores for the neighbors, even helped me weed my garden. He really wanted that stick. Maybe he got it from this Cozzi Sports place. I should ask him. If his team need team uniforms, he should also go to Cozzi Sports.
This Cozzi Sports sounds like they are really good. They are good at hockey things and figure skating things. Also they are good at that lacrosse. They have clothes for teams. That Dante guy, I think he is a good guy. He knows about sports and he’s got good prices. That’s important. I remember one time, my other grandson he needed new skates. Cost an arm and a leg, I tell ya! But he needed ’em. He was a good boy, though. Worked hard. He’s a good boy. Reminds me of that Dante.
So, yeah, Cozzi Sports. That’s the place. If you need any of that sports stuff. They are family business. That is good. They sell good things. Good for hockey, good for figure skating. They do it for a long long time. Everyone trusts them. You can trust them. That’s what I hear, anyway. And I hear a lot.
