Okay, let’s talk about these “Gotham” TV show action figures.
So, I recently got into collecting action figures based on the “Gotham” TV series. It all started when I stumbled upon a figure of young Bruce Wayne at a local comic book store. I’ve always been a Batman fan, and “Gotham”‘s take on the characters was pretty interesting to me, so I decided to pick it up.
Once I had Bruce, I figured I might as well get a few more. I went online and found that there were actually quite a few figures available, made by different companies like Funko and Diamond Select Toys. I started hunting down the ones I wanted the most, like Detective James Gordon, Oswald Cobblepot (The Penguin), and Selina Kyle (Catwoman). It was like a treasure hunt, checking different online stores and even some local shops.
- First, I found a James Gordon figure from the Funko POP series. He was pretty easy to find, and he looked cool with his little trench coat and badge.
- Next, I managed to snag a Penguin figure from Diamond Select Toys. This one was a bit more detailed, and it even came with his signature umbrella.
- Selina was a bit harder to track down, but I finally found her online. She was part of the 7-inch scale line, which is pretty cool because she has a lot of articulation. That means you can pose her in all sorts of dynamic ways, like she’s about to jump off a rooftop or something.
The thing I really like about these figures is that they capture the look and feel of the show pretty well. Like, the Penguin figure really looks like Robin Lord Taylor, the actor who played him on the show. It’s kind of cool to see these characters that I watched on TV brought to life in this way.
One thing I’ll say, though, is that it can be a bit of a mixed bag in terms of quality. Some figures are super detailed and have great articulation, while others are a bit more basic. But hey, that’s part of the fun of collecting, right? You never quite know what you’re going to get.
Anyway, I’ve been slowly building up my collection, and it’s become a fun little hobby. I have them all displayed on a shelf in my room, and it’s always cool to see them when I walk in. It’s like having a little piece of Gotham City right there with me.
If you’re a fan of the show, I definitely recommend checking out these action figures. They’re a fun way to show your love for the series, and they make for some pretty cool display pieces. Just be prepared to do some hunting if you’re looking for specific characters!
Oh, and one last thing. There is a McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse line of Gotham Knights, too. These are based more on the video game, but they have the same vibe as the show. But I’ve been enjoying collecting these figures so far, and I can’t wait to see what other characters they release in the future!
I’m still on the hunt for a few more figures to complete my collection. And discovered that there’s a whole community of collectors online, so I might start trading or buying from other collectors to get the ones I’m missing.
