Alright, let’s talk about these UFC collectible cards, you know, the ones them young folks are always yappin’ about. I ain’t no expert, mind you, but I’ve seen enough things in my life to know what’s what. So, listen up, and I’ll tell ya what I know.
First off, what are these dang cards anyway? Well, they’re like little pictures of them fellas who beat each other up in that cage thing, the Octagon they call it. UFC fighters, that’s right. And these cards, they got all sorts of stuff on ’em. Some just got pictures, some got scribbles, which they call autographs, and some even got bits of stuff from the fights, like a piece of their shorts or somethin’ – can you believe that? They call them relic cards.
Now, why do folks go crazy for these cards? Beats me! But from what I hear, some of them can be worth a whole lotta money. Especially the ones with them autographs and them low numbers. See, they make a bunch of cards, but some are real rare, like one outta ten, or even one outta three! Them’s the ones the collectors want. And if them cards are in good shape, all shiny and new lookin’, they call it “graded”, they’re worth even more. A fella named PSA, he’s the one they trust to say if a card’s good or not. A PSA 10, that’s the best you can get, I reckon.
Where do you get these cards? Well, you can buy ’em from stores, online places like Fanatics Authentic Official Online Store I heard them young folks talk about or at auctions. Fanatics, they got all sorts of signed and unsigned cards, they say. And then there’s these auctions, where they sell all sorts of UFC stuff, like them gloves and shirts them fighters wear. The UFC Collectibles Auction, that’s the big one, they say. It’s run by a group called The Memento Group, some fancy name for folks sellin’ old stuff if you ask me.
Speaking of fancy, let me tell you about some fancy cards I saw on that interweb thingy. There was this one card, a Cyril Gane fella, had his scribble on it and a piece of somethin’ green, maybe from his shorts, I dunno. It was a “Panini Immaculate Collection Green Relic” card, number two outta three. And this BGS fella said it was almost perfect, a nine outta ten. Them young folks were goin’ crazy for it, talkin’ ’bout how much it was worth. More than my old mule, that’s for sure!
So, if you’re lookin’ to get into this whole UFC card thing, be prepared to spend some money. Them good cards ain’t cheap. And you gotta know what you’re lookin’ for. You want them autograph cards, them relic cards, and them cards with low numbers. And you want ’em in good shape. But most importantly, you gotta like them fighters. Otherwise, what’s the point, right? It’s like collectin’ stamps or rocks or whatever them city folks do, gotta mean somethin’ to ya.
Now, don’t go blamin’ me if you lose all your money on these cards. I told ya, I ain’t no expert. I’m just tellin’ ya what I heard and what I seen. It’s a gamble, just like life. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. But if you’re lucky, you might just find a card that’s worth a whole heap of cash. And then you can buy yourself a new mule, or maybe even a fancy car. Who knows?
Anyways, that’s about all I know ’bout them UFC collectible cards. Just remember, do your research, don’t spend more than you can afford, and have fun. And if you see that Cyril Gane card, tell him I said hello. Just kiddin’! He wouldn’t know me from Adam. But hey, a fella can dream, right?
So you youngsters get out there, find them rare cards. Maybe you’ll get lucky and find one of those limited edition UFC merch. Just remember what your old granny told ya, it’s all about havin’ some fun and maybe makin’ a little money along the way. But be careful, don’t go spendin’ all your hard-earned cash on them fancy cards. You gotta eat, too!
