Well, let me tell ya somethin’ about this… uh… goldberg action figure wwe thing. My grandson, that little whippersnapper, he’s always yellin’ about it. “Gimme Goldberg! Gimme Goldberg!” He drives me nuts, I tell ya. Kids these days, always wantin’ somethin’.
So, I went and looked it up, this “Goldberg.” Seems like he’s some kinda strong fella, wrestlin’ and whatnot. And they make these little dolls, or “action figures,” they call ’em, of him. Now, I don’t get it, why would anyone want a little doll of a grown man? But that’s just me, I guess. I’m old-fashioned.
This “Mattel” company, they seem to be the ones makin’ most of these Goldberg figures. They got all sorts, I hear. “Ultimate Edition,” they call one. Sounds fancy, right? Probably costs a pretty penny too. My grandson, he wants that one, of course. Always wants the best, that kid. He says it’s got like, extra heads and hands or somethin’. I tell him, “One head is enough for any decent person!” But he don’t listen.
I saw some pictures online – yes, even an old lady like me can use the internet, though it ain’t easy! – and these figures, they look real enough, I guess. Muscles and tattoos and all. They even got him in different outfits. Like, he’s got this black and white one, looks kinda like a cow, if you ask me. And then there’s this other one, all shiny and gold. Must be for special occasions, like a weddin’ or somethin’, haha!
- They got these figures everywhere, seems like.
- Online stores, like that “*” place.
- Even on that “Amazon” thing, where you can buy just about anything these days.
- And they ain’t cheap, let me tell ya. Some cost more than a good pair of shoes!
People are sellin’ ’em used, too. “Used” action figures, can you believe it? What do they do with ’em, throw ’em around the room? My grandson probably would, knowing him. They say you can get a better deal on a used one, but I don’t know. Seems kinda strange to me. Like buyin’ someone else’s old socks.
This whole “Fan TakeOver” thing, that’s somethin’ else. Seems like the fans get to pick which figure gets made, or somethin’ like that. Goldberg was one of ’em, I guess. People really like this fella, huh? Must be one heck of a wrestler. I wouldn’t know, I prefer watchin’ the birds in my garden. Much more peaceful.
Anyway, if you’re lookin’ for one of these goldberg action figure wwe things, good luck to ya. You’ll need it, with all the different kinds and places to buy ’em. And be prepared to spend some money, ’cause they ain’t givin’ ’em away, that’s for sure. My grandson, he finally got his. He plays with it all the time, makin’ it wrestle with his other little dolls. Makes a lot of noise, that’s for sure. But hey, at least he’s happy, I guess. That’s all that matters in the end, right? A happy grandkid and a little bit of peace and quiet…eventually.
And let me tell you, this whole thing about collecting these figures, it’s more than just toys to some folks. It’s like… like collecting stamps, I guess. People get real serious about it. They got special cases to keep ‘em in, and they trade ‘em, and they talk about ‘em online. It’s a whole world I never knew existed. Makes my head spin, to be honest. I remember when a good stick and a rock were all a kid needed to have fun. Now they need these plastic fellas with the muscles and the angry faces. Times sure have changed.
But I reckon as long as it keeps them kids outta trouble, it can’t be all bad. Just wish they wouldn’t cost so much! A grandma’s gotta eat too, you know? Maybe I should start sellin’ ‘em myself. “Grandma Betty’s Bargain Goldberg’s”, that has a nice ring to it, don’t it? Haha! Just kiddin’. I’m too old for that kind of nonsense. I’ll stick to my garden and my birds. And tryin’ to keep that grandson of mine from breakin’ the bank with all these wrestlin’ dolls.
