Alright, y’all, let’s talk about this wrestling card thingy, the 2024 Prizm WWE. I heard folks are buzzin’ about it, so let me tell ya what I know, the way I understand it, ya hear?
Now, they call it “Optichrome.” Sounds fancy, but from what I gather, it just means the cards are all shiny and sparkly-like. Makes ’em look nice, I guess. This ain’t my first rodeo with these shiny cards, seen ‘em before, but these young’uns get all excited about ‘em.
So, when do these here cards come out? Well, some folks say August 9th, that’s when the hobby box came out. But then I heard another date, August 23rd. Maybe that’s for a different box, or maybe they just got it wrong the first time. Honestly, these dates, they change faster than the weather in spring, ya know?
- Hobby Box Release: August 9th, 2024
- Other Boxes: Maybe August 23rd, 2024 or so? Don’t hold me to it!
Anyways, in each of these boxes, you get a whole bunch of stuff. They say you get two autographs, that’s like the wrestlers’ signatures on the cards. Pretty fancy, if you ask me. My grandson got one of them Stone Cold Steve Austin fellas, real wild fella that one.
Then there’s these “parallels,” 22 of ’em they say. I ain’t exactly sure what they are, but they sound like different versions of the same card, maybe different colors or somethin’. And 12 “inserts,” those are probably special cards too, with different pictures and stuff. It’s all a bit much for an old lady like me, but the young’uns, they eat it up.
They say there’s 200 cards in the whole set. That’s a lot of wrestlers! I remember back in my day, we only had a few on TV. Now, they got hundreds, all shapes and sizes. Some of ‘em look like they could wrestle a bear, others look like they couldn’t wrestle a chicken, haha!
What’s in a box, you ask? Well, like I said, two autographs, those are the signed ones. Then you got all them parallels, like I said, different shiny colors I reckon. And inserts, those are the special ones. They say it’s on average, so maybe you get lucky and get more, maybe you get less. That’s the gamble, ain’t it?
Now, I don’t know much about collecting these things, but I know folks go crazy for ’em. They trade ’em, sell ’em, and even put ’em in those little plastic sleeves to keep ’em safe. Seems like a lot of fuss over some pictures of sweaty men in tights, but hey, to each their own, right? My grandson tries to explain it to me but I just can’t wrap my head around it.
Is it worth it? Well, that depends on who you ask. If you like wrestling and you like shiny things, then maybe it is. But if you’re like me, and you’d rather spend your money on a good biscuit and a cup of coffee, then maybe not. But like they say, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. I just hope these kids aren’t spending all their hard earned money on these things.
So there you have it, that’s what I know about the 2024 Prizm WWE cards. Not much, I admit, but enough to get you started. If you want to know more, go ask one of them young’uns on the internet. They know everything these days, or at least they think they do. Me? I’m gonna go make myself a cup of tea. All this talk about wrestling and cards has worn me out!
Just remember, these dates and things, they ain’t set in stone. Things change, you know? So if you go looking for these cards and they ain’t there, don’t blame me!
